Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We decided on a guided tour (rather than self-hiring kayaks) to get the best experience in 2 hours. Terry, our guide, was very knowledgeable in terms of local history, interesting facts, spotting bird and other wildlife, water and kayaking stuff. We saw sand rays, pelicans, and a big smooth stingray!! Terry knew where this resident ray would hang out and he was persistent in hanging around for a bit, and we were rewarded with its sighting - that was a highlight. To finish off, we paddled through the mangroves back to the launching point. Highly recommend.

Awesome morning out, totally worth it! We took our daughters 5 and 7 and they both enjoyed learning how to paddle, spotting fish, exploring mangroves and having a surprise beach swim along the way. Great to get up close to some amazing wildlife and beautiful boats. Will do again.

We'd highly recommend Guided Sit On Top Kayak Tour, Huskisson. My kids and I did the tour this morning and it was awesome. We were in great hands with our guide Ryan. He managed the group exceptionally well and his local knowledge was impressive.

Terry was an excellent instructor and guide. It was our first time kayaking & Terry made it super easy to follow his directions. We also got to see a few giant stingrays!

Bart was a great guide and made everyone in the group feel comfortable on the water. We got some great insights on the area and saw some dolphins as well.

Please can you advise me how much it costs to do the trip to see the mango groves on kayaks. Possibly an option for a Birthday trip with teenage boys (5 boys 14/15 yrs) and husband and myself)?

Hi Julie,
This trip is $59 per person. We would be happy to do it as a private booking, with no other participants if you like.
Many Thanks,
Sarah
How long does it take to kayak to Hyam’s beach?
TeamJBK
Huskisson, Australia3 contributions
Hi, kayaking time from Huskisson to Hyams Beach varies depending on the type of craft you are using. We do not recommend doing it in a sit on top kayak, particularly with the strong North Easterly winds we are currently experiencing. In a sea kayak of 16-18' it will take approx. 1 1/2 hours, depending on weather conditions and paddler. Cheers!
