Certainly strange having a submarine in a park miles from the ocean. But a well worth deviation off the Hume to see an awesome sight and a befitting museum about Commander Holbrook and submarine life in general.

Great spot, fabulous exhibit & you are able to access it and walk along the top with a handrail for assistance. Fun for all the family!

After walking around the outside displays we decided to call in and check out the museum. Plenty of great exhibits, well laid out and worth a visit.

With a hologram to tell an amazing story and interactive submarine including telescope the whole family will enjoy this museum. The best stop between Sydney and Melbourne.

On the long drive between Melbourne and Sydney, exit into Holbrook. Grab a snack and a drink, stretch your legs in the park and climb on the submarine! Information boards are around with the history of the town and of the submarine.

The submarine is half submerged and provides steps for children to access the top and investigate. It’s a welcome stop on the highway for a break and let the kids get out for a bit. It’s a worthwhile stop.
