Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I’ve visited quite a few times. Camping is good at Holy Camp and Ben Hall’s camp. The walk to the summit is great and so are the walks up the big gullies. Seasons Farm is also worth a look in. It’s to believe people lived like that and worked so hard subh a short time ago.

We travelled out here to see Ben Hall's cave, there a lot of great camp spaces, toilets are well maintained, so are the tracks and the road out there

Had a fabulous walk up to Ben Hall's cave and enjoyed beautiful views across the plains. Went on to Jim and Bertha Seaton's farm which was an excellent place to wander around and see their lifestyle. Well worth the visit.

Stayed two nights in our camper at the Ben Hall campground which is accessed by sealed road from Grenfell up to the park entrance, then just a few km on gravel to the campground.

The campground offers basic pit toilets plus fire pits with both bollard restricted and open camping areas.

There are a number of very interesting, with some modestly challenging, walks that can be done from the campground. These includes:

To Ben Hall cave, 1.5 km return,
To Berthas' Gully, 3km return with the last 150m a bit of a scramble,
Foley's Loop, takes you to a wonderful viewpoint over the western plains on this 2.5 km loop- we went counterclockwise which gets the more difficult bits out of the way going up,
and Seaton' Farm, a 1 km walk from the campground which highlights and documents pioneer farming life in the area: particularly interesting.

Whist the weather was particularly cold when we visited, it was all good and highly recommended: one of the best free camping spots you will find in a national park in NSW.

Check out the old time homestead, bush ranger lookout. Lots of good picnic sites and bush camping sites for caravan and camper trailers. If you enjoy bush walking, plenty of trails to follow. Hot in summer.

We hiked to Ben Hall's Cave and also the Loop walk. The loop walk was steep, but not too hard. It takes about 2 1/2 hours allowing for a snack at the top and lots of photo stops. Interesting landscape as you walk through it and FANTASTIC views - wow - you could see so far from the top. Really worthwhile.
We also went to Seaton's farm in the park. This is really interesting. Probably the only National Park or National Trust property I have seen that conservces a farm from the depression era. Having seen others (not preserved) as a child, it is authentic. There were also a lot of birds her so good for birdwatching as well.

We visited the northern end of the park where walking tracks wind through the trees and up the slopes. The first we followed went to Ben Hall's Cave. An easy walk but a little disappointing at the end as the cave is fenced off for safety reasons. Up the opposite hillside we hiked for an hour to a lookout with a spectacular view across the flat expanses to the west. This would be a very pleasant place to camp and explore. In spring there are a multitude of wildflowers to find.
Just down the road is Seaton's farm; preserved by the National Trust as it was when left; with the patched together buildings, fences and machinery as they were used to hack out a living from this marginal land. An object lesson in human durability.

Just a 20 minute drive from Grenfell along the back piney range road brings you to a beautiful little campground at the foot of the mountains.Great walks around the area and the camping spots appeared clean and comfortable with plenty of space.A 30 minue walk brings you to Ben Halls cave and when you drive around the mountains you can imagine how good a bushman this bloke was.The history of Ben Hall is the Weddin Mountains and surrounds

We stayed at the Ben Hall Campground. We had a young family in a camper trailer. The sites were spacious and far enough away from each other. Each site had a fire pit and at least one table. The pit toilets were clean. There were some great, easy walks from the campsites. The kids had bikes and spent a lot of time riding around the camp site. We plan to go back there. The camping was free too.
