Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed at Sundara Beach House with a group of friends. Wow, five star from the time you make your booking to the time you walk in the front door. Beautifully appointed, comfortable and Welcoming. If you are looking for accomodation in the area don’t look any further.

My very first visit to Werri Beach and the weather gods were not helpful! On a 3-day visit to the area we basically had crap weather. But I always visit & swim when a new beach appears on my horizon. Check out the title, okay? What I found was a really nice stretch of sand with a few surfers at the southern end but at the really skinny flagged area, me & a bored volunteer patrol. Would look spectacular on a sunny day, so will give it another try as it's a nice beach to visit.

This another of our great south coast beaches. Plenty of free parking and you shouldn't need to fight for a spot to place your towel. Wonderful yellow sand, white capped waves. Shops and facilities nearby. Superb part of the coast. At time of our visit, no surf patrol so exercise care.

Werri Beach is great for surfing and fishing. The lagoon is perfect for the younger kids to go swimming. Plenty of holiday accommodation in this area. Search Coast & Country Holidays for homes near the beach.

A favourite part of the world for me. Windy weather today but had fun watching the surfers do their stuff. Great walk around the village taking my dog for a stroll

Salt Cottage is about a 3 min walk to Werri beach which is a lovely long beach that has a changing face each day depending on the weather, even if you don’t want to swim it’s a lovely place to walk.

The center of the beach has a large off leash dog area that was wonderful for the dogs and the closest part of the beach to the cottage. This is the most exposed part of the beach and I wouldn’t swim there unless you are an experienced swimmer, lots of changing sand bars, gutters and lots of rips. We are reasonably good in the water so we still did a bit of limited swimming and paddling here.

The south end is where the flags and patrol is, I’d mainly stick to swimming here, especially if you are not confident in the water. There is also a great rock pool there for swimming in and the sea snails will always keep the young members of the household amused.

We swam at the north end and found this a little less exposed and the waves pretty good for body surfing. This is not patrolled so again I wouldn’t swim here unless you are pretty confident.

My only small print complaints about the beach are that it is always quite windy, in 2 weeks we really didn’t have a day without significant wind. This from what I can tell is a feature of the south coast so I don’t think any of the other beaches would be different. Also the 2 weeks we were there the water temp was pretty cold, we admittedly are a bit soft most of our beach holidays have been Fiji and Hawaii, so used to warm water. We just put our wetsuits on and had no problems from there on. Again my kids would be in the water for 1-2 hours, hence I needed to be in there with them so I needed a wetsuit to be in for that long. For a normal swim and not being in for ages its perfectly fine. Also we caught up with some school friends who have a holiday house at Gerroa, he said these two weeks were colder than usual water wise.

This is one of the most beautiful beaches on the South Coast with great surf (mostly) and a fantastic lagoon at one end for the little ones and some boating/kayaking. Clean, never that busy and easy to access. The Gerringong to Kiamaj coastal walk adjoins the northern end and has some amazing views and secluded beach areas along the way.

This is a great beach, pretty quiet and plenty of space, probably greater appeal for surfers and stronger swimmers. Has a rock pool though, so for a safe swim, head to the pool in well gripped shoes. There is a little bit of rock to cover before you get there. There is a nice flat paved walk along the edge of the beach but limited view.

Drive to the lovely South Coast village of Gerringong which sits high on a hill overlooking beautiful Werri Beach. A great place for a picnic, swim or surf. We often buy lunch at the Gerringong Cafe and Takeway and take it down to the table and seats overlooking the bay at Werri Beach. Sit back and breathe in the views and ocean air.

There is a club and seafood shop nearby in Pacific Avenue
