Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Evans Head Heritage Aviation Museum is packed full of very interesting old war planes. There is ample information to read about each one and they even offer going inside the bigger planes! It's quite the experience, for my 3.5yo and husband and myself equally invested in the rich offering of experiences and learning. There are planes inside and out. As well as a comprehensive gift shop with quality gifts. Full five star review. The staff are friendly too!

A great little aviation museum with the main exhibit being the F111. Can “donate” to sit in the F111 cockpit. Quite a few old military aircraft on display. Some interesting videos worth watching.

Amazing to get so close to an F111. In fact sit in an F111! A treasure of other aircraft collections too. The volunteers were welcoming and knowledgeable with stories and explanations told with patience as we listened and learnt.

Somewhere to learn about the RAAF and its history in the Evans Head area during WW11 and view a F111, close up, along with other Air Force memorabilia inclyuding fighters

I didn't have a clue about the RAF training base at Evans Head during WWII until I visited this museum. The volunteers were self disclosed 'plane nuts' and enthusiastic to impart their knowledge. The collection of old planes was amazing and kids (big and little) love walking inside the body of the old transport plane, still being restored in the back yard. Definitely worth a visit.

Visiting the F111 Museum at Evans Head was a great experience,. I thought I would just have a look around and That's all, but the guided tour around the museum by Rod was excellent, Explaining yore history of the F111 and walkthrough inside the Caribou, and a Canberra bomber and a Mig Jet Fighter. Overall an excellent and memorable experience.

Put together by passionate volunteers, which is great to see and commendable. Not very big but a great way to spend 2 hours. The F11 was the highlight.

Entrance was only $5 and if you wanted to pilot the F111 an extra $10 which included a run down of instruments etc. The volunteer staff were helpful and interesting. Highly recommended.

The F111 is the centre piece of the display and is most impressive but the other exhibits combine to make the museum a must see. We had an escort who explained a number of exhibits and showed us the interiors of some of the bigger airplanes. We only had an hour but as the museum is so large we could have spent more time there Its a great museum , don't miss it..

The airfield museum is great and have been there every year since it opened. As an ex RAAF officer I very much appreciate the great work being done at this facility and country asset. The facility is well supported by visitors, towns folk, aviation enthusiasts, council and Federal Government inclusive of the RAAF. The museum is always looking to improve and grow this facility that I understand will increase in 2019 with another hanger and P3C Orion being added to the acft list that is a huge recognition factor for this small town but very important museum facility. Go visit as I am sure you won’t be disappointed.
