    Great day of creativity
This was the highlight of our holiday for me. We took two classes with Agnes: cup making and plate glazing. Both were good fun and well organised, with just the right amount of direction and creative leeway. The cafe on site does excellent scones and coffee, and they have a large menu available for lunch including woodfired pizza and gelato. We enjoyed watching Julie on the wheel, and Maria made us feel very welcome.

    An enjoyable and relaxing experience
Stayed at Poets Cottage for three nights and did some great walks. The cottage was comfortable and contained the essentials that we needed to self cater. Particularly enjoyed just sitting on the verandah watching the birdlife (but beware the early morning cock crow!) The hikes we did amongst the forest and sandstone cliffs and caves were fascinating although some involved a hike out from the cottage as they are not accessible by a 2WD hire car. Had a wonderful pizza at the pottery Cafe, seeing the pottery creations and talking with some of the potters at work. Maria was a friendly and welcoming host.

    A Unique Experience
We stayed in Kellie's campground at Pilliga Pottery for 2 nights earlier this month. The camp sites are spacious, under trees and many have their own camp fire pit. The camp ground has an amenities block (2 composting toilets) and even hot showers. The extensive walking tracks around the property offer walks for all levels of walkers and, from the high points, provide wonderful views across the region. The Blue Wren cafe serves delicious and reasonably priced food. The pizza we had for dinner one night was particularly yummy. We loved the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of the whole place. It was like becoming part of a small community. One of the potters, Joel, was very friendly and was happy to answer all our questions about the pottery process and the farm itself - we really appreciated it. Kimmie in the cafe was always very welcoming and helpful, not only about the food, but also the walks. We are keen to return again one day soon and would recommend it to other campers.

    Nice stay
Very quiet place. Sign was good but under the tree, so it was hard for me to see. The road driving in needs to improve a little. I guess it was a big rain before our trip, so it was rather muddy. Staff was very helpful and nice. I will visit again. but hopefully with the road improve soon.

It's quirky, it's rustic, our kinda place!
It was suggested we drop in to Pilliga Pottery. It should have been suggested we go and stay there. We enjoyed it so much we camped overnight and could have stayed longer if we had scheduled it into our trip. Enjoyed the staff, enjoyed the pottery shop, loved the drive out to Marie's Walk and the walk. I'd say the walk is a level 5, especially in the way down. We took our walking poles and we were glad we did. Didn't appear that anyone had been out there for a while either. Definitely 4wd in spots to get out there. We chose a special piece of pottery which we decided it could be our wedding anniversary treat. Our daughter is a potter so that is saying something that we bought someone else's work. You can have pottery lessons and make items to send have sent home after firing. It's rustic, it's quirky, staff with a sense of humour - our kinda place. Reminds me of our home in Hahndorf.

    Fun weekend away
This is a must see and stay, they also have a cafe/restaurant with great coffee and wood fired pizza. The accomodation was cute, we stayed in the one bedroom and were able to bring our dogs. Comfy beds and a good shower. We did a glazing class which was fun, the staff are lovely & the pottery ypu can purchase is beautiful. Next time we will do some of the surrounding bush walks and have some of the gillato 🧁.

We visited the pottery studio after a solid days walking in the Pilliga National Park. It was a misty kind of afternoon so the coffee was particularly welcomed. Then to wander around the studio watching as the potters worked on more unique masterpieces was interesting, they were very friendly and encouraged us to learn more about what they did. They were only too happy to answer all our questions. I’m sure you’ll find the perfect moments of your visit to this unique part of NSW

After reading many reviews, we just knew we had to visit the Blue Wren for lunch and were not disappointed. We didn’t arrive until just after 2pm so there were only wood-fired pizzas on offer but as that was what we wanted anyway all good. I had a lovely vegetarian (Fresh tomato, mushrooms, capsicum, olives, corn, onions, feta, mozzarella cheese) one whilst my husband had their Supreme (Salami, mushrooms, olives, capsicum, onions, mozzarella cheese). Both were excellent .. possibly could have shared 😊 but we didn’t and ate it all!!

We had a walk around the area checking out the amazing grounds and then another ‘must do’ and a visit into the Pilliga pottery. So much beautiful terracotta pieces and we eventually settled on a water filter pot with a beautiful dragon motif. Now looks wonderful at home. Lovely chat with the people in the pottery and a great couple of hours.

We can definitely recommend the pizzas and a visit into the pottery.

Arriving in the dark along on the deserted 10km dirt track, this place emerges as an oasis of light with a buzz of activity in the cafe and pottery studio. We went for dinner from Coonabarabran. Food was great, atmosphere cosy and staff very friendly. Reasonable prices too. We were able to visit the pottery studio after dinner. Just a shame we didn’t get to see the place during the daytime!

I spent 4 nights at this farmstay as part of a group of 13 bushwalking friends. I loved the ambience and appreciated the hard work that has been put into this property over many years to make it a desirable and hospitable environment. From its impeccable website to its carefully marked and maintained walking trails, there is no detail that has been overlooked while the hospitality is genuine. The range of accommodation options brings it within anyone's budget. Thoroughly recommended.

Great spot for a day trip or camping. Stayed at the Farmhouse. No facilities for cooking and potential sharing bathroom with 19 other people. Not so good in current covid climate. Thought we would eat at Restaurant. However, only 2 meals available plus pizza. That might be ok for one night but not two. The staff very friendly. Online booking for workshops and restaurant doesn't really work as you need to book again once you get there.

A Long drive to find the cafe only sells german food and pizza. The cafe is beautiful inside.
Stood in the cafe in front of ordering area while random people walked in and out of the kitchen helping themselves to things, unsure if they were staff or not. Finally asked someone (who had walked past us a few times without a greeting) if we could order to which we were told yes, and sorry we are so busy today.
Order taken incorrectly. Two serves of scones were ordered. Uncomfortably waited 15 minutes to be served one serving of two scones. When questioned if a serving of scones is one or two scones, was told two scones is one serving and I only asked for two scones. It took less than five minutes to be given our second serving.
Very unfriendly feeling to the place. Went to look at the pottery in the shop but again unsure who was staff as no one greeted you when you entered the shop. Shop unorganised with private pieces (not for sale) mixed in with the sale pieces. Could not be bothered waiting to find someone for help again.

Pottery amazing and cafe lovely. Whilst our meal was being prepared we wandered around the pottery workshop watching people create beautiful things. The staff were obliging when we asked questions and their pottery exquisite. Topped off by a lovely afternoon tea.

We wanted a last family holiday all together before our elder daughter headed off to Uni. Our younger daughter chose this location as we had previously stayed there in 2015 and had such fond memories. Luckily this visit was at least as good as our first stay.
We stayed again in the Poets Cottage which was just perfect for our needs. Far enough away from everyone that we felt totally private, but close enough to walk to everything. I also loved the fact that the wi-fi didn't quite reach the cottage (well that's what I told the girls), so we were "forced" to read books, play board games and talk instead.
We ate most of our meals at the cafe, mostly to give us a break from cooking (well me), but also because they are so delicious and hearty.
Bird watching was a real treat - we saw at least 15 different species and were able to finally identify some of the gorgeous songs that we were hearing.
The pottery lessons (including the wheel which was our favourite) were just the right length and we're all very proud of what we made.
Relaxing by the pool was a treat, so all in all it was everything I dreamed for in a proper family holiday.

Fantastic! Joel was an excellent teacher and was so very patient with all of us ‘kids’ (41yo, 10yo, 7yo, 6yo & 4yo) for our Bally bowl and Bally turtle making class. We thoroughly enjoyed learning some great basic clay skills and are most excited to receive our fired creations.
We not only did a beginners class but also enjoyed a scrumptious lunch fresh wood fired pizza and pancakes. Overall, a ‘must do’ for anyone exploring the area. Five stars!!!
