The observatory dome can be seen from a long way away and seems huge...it is! There’s a lift up to the floor level of the telescope 4 floors or stairs to climb if you need excercise! There’s a cafe and great display. Amazing place..

The drive up to The Siding Spring Observatory is beautiful. Autumn leaves everywhere and views to the horizon. The displays inside are informative and some interactive. There is a cafe and small gift shop.

If you have an interest in astronomy, this is very informative, but it is a shame night visits and explanations are no longer available. Good coffee at the cafe, and a view of some very big equipment and extraordinary pictures.

This was a great drive and exciting to walk up to the Observatory. There is a cafe and museum which is fascinating! It was well worth the drive and children would love the interactive displays in the museum.

We spent a wonderful couple of days at Siding Spring, booked through Travel Ogg, and staying at the astronomers' lodge. We enjoyed sunsets, sunrises, beautiful skies and stars, an afternoon 'off' to walk in the Warrambungle National Park, and interactions with friendly and informative astronomy...More

Yes, you can definitely sit outside. There’s plenty of grass space plus some tables outside too. A family with lots of children was having a picnic on the grass when we visited.
