A must stay for camping lovers
Such a relaxing, safe place to stay. The sunsets over the lake are stunning! Great amenities with toilets & hot showers, lots of picnic tables in the shade, big children's playground, specified swimming area in the lake. There is a walking trail pprox 3km around the lake with shelters along the way. The lake was full, even with the drought (although there was a flood approx 12mths ago). You can fish from the lake, can take boats out on the lake (great boat ramp & plenty of area to leave boat trailers etc., free BBQs (free everything unless you want to make a donation, which there is a place to do so). No site fees. Everything is free and only 4km out of town.

    Beautiful spot.
Neat, very clean ammenities. Very large amount of space either under the trees or out in full sun for solar charging. Suitable for tents and big-rigs. I assume you can swim in the lake which is huge. Shaded picnic tables. Plenty of bins + recycling.

Great spot - good recreation park and donation camping
A wonderful location and facility. A very pretty spot that has well maintained grounds with camping available amongst the trees just a little back from the lake. Prolific birdlife. There are new amenities blocks offering hot water showers, all included in the asked for donation: bbqs and picnic shelters are also available. We spent a pleasant two nights here which was thoroughly enjoyed.

Although this camp is free it has facilities that compare with some of the charging camp sites. Free, hot showers, toilets and garbage bins. Site is clean and the lakeside is mown and delightful. Close to the river for fishing. Bird watching is great too. I felt a need to donate and go into town for food etc. Well done Condobolin.

We stayed at Gum Bend Lake in our caravan for 2 nights on a friend's recommendation. It is a magnificent location with a beautiful man made lake beside the river. The lake is 3 kms around, with a nice walking trail. The camping area is spacious, the amenities, the caretaker friendly and helpful. Next time we shall bring our kayak. As an illustration of the value of such amenities, we calculated that we left over $200 in Condobolin with the 3 essentials: fuel, food and alcohol. We shall be back.

If you have a ski boat, kayak or just being around the water, you will love Gum Bend Lake. Amenities are open and free (with donation). Camping spaces are plentiful and only a short walk from the amenities block.

Great free camping sports with big trees and variety of birdlike, shame dogs can't go in the water and that it's not open to swimming all year.

We enjoyed a beautiful and stunning sunset accompanied by drinks and snacks sitting on the banks of this lake. A relaxing means if unwinding after a day travelling.

A wonderful big man made lake with the best facilities, BBQ's toilets showers, lunndry. Only 3 k's from town. Catch the yella belly and have a fresh feed of fish, or swim, or paddle or boat, it's all there. And, caravaning, camping is free with a request for a donation when you leave. There are many happy visitors here. Well done Condo.

Whenever I'm in Condo I pop down to Gum Bend Lake for the view and sometimes stay for the sunset. It has become my "office" as the place to go for some quiet, with a takeaway lunch from town and a great place to unwind.

If you do go around dusk be careful of the kangaroos as there was a pretty big mob of them last time I was there.

Great overnight spot with a campervan too, toilets on site.
