I really enjoy visiting the farm whenever I’m staying in Byron Bay. It’s a pleasure to walk the grounds and explore the gardens. The food prepared and served at the restaurant is good quality and has an uplifting vibe. They have a wonderful little shop that sells local goods as well as wonderful plant based options in the freezer for take away. I highly recommend a visit.

I love this restaurant and go regularly. It is one of the few places that caters to the Organic/spray-free desires of so many in this region. Stellar Effort. The food is delicious if a bit pricey but I don't mind that because of the creativity and excellence that comes on each plate. On this occassion I had charred red cabbage with smoked tomato cream sauce which I loved, the vegetarian gnocchi and the potatoes. I think it might be the potatoes that I keep returning for, but I get them without the extra oil on top. The sour cream they serve it with is surely enough... The bread is baked on site and has an extremely low gluten content, famous throughout the region for its Deliciousness and lightness. I love the seeded sourdough. Bread Social. Superb all around. It's possible to get a gelato and walk around the gardens after lunch, which I love. Unlike most, my highlight is the bold Ibis, which for me is an added entertainment. I wish I could eat here once a week!

Firstly - it is a fun place to see and a neat place for the kids to explore. It's easy to explain to kids the farm environment and animals with it all being safe and easy (kids love farms). The outdoor seating has enough shade/sun to be a good balance, and the outdoor playground is great for the kids to play and meet other kids too.
Secondly, the activities organised for the holiday period were awesome. I didn't think my kids would get into it so much, but they were run really well and the kids were interested and engaged. These included: Mini Farm Kids.
A day that was run by the two nicest teachers from 9am to 3pm. It included candle making, soap making, weeding and planting seedlings, collected eggs and fed the animals. The kids came home so inspired and have regurgitated information every day since.
The kids LOOOOOOOVED playing there and we were there for a few hours. I always really love the food! We order from the cabinet and take it all outside and eat on the tables while the kids play.
Lastly, the other families there were so nice and friendly, and there were plenty of other kids to play with.
Thanks so much for a special holiday experience. It was very last minute booking into the holiday program, but our two boys had a ball. Please thank the lovely two teachers for us!

Outstanding farm tour and restaurant lunch.
The tour is definitely worthwhile for all ages, I learned much about the area and farming. It was presented in a warm and respectful way- respectful of first nations people and country, as well as animal welfare.
The vegetarian lunch option was huge and fresh and very tasty.
I definitely want come back now to try some other dishes, and to sit in the macadamia forest on the gratitude bench.

Its been a few years since we visted the farm and it has lost abit of its magic. We started with the 10.30am tour however that was not at all interactive or give us much insight into the farm. It would definitely not be at all interesting to children however more suited to older couples interested in the business model. (Most of the businesses that operate are tenants of the farm). A few people left the tour early. Just save yourself the money and do a self guided tour. There are bee hives, chickens, pigs, horse which you can view yourself and a macadamia farm from which you can forage for nuts for with a cracking machine on picnic tables. The lunch at three blue ducks was very nice and service also really good. The coffee as someone else has mentioned leaves quite a bitter aftertaste. The gelato next to the play ground is definitely a highlight.

This review is only based on The Farm as we did not eat at the cafe.
We stopped in here to stock up on food food for our self catering holiday but ended up leaving disappointed. The website said it had a produce store so I was looking forward to picking up lots of fresh fruit & veg, milk, bread and eggs. When we arrived, parking was crazy and we had to drive around for over 10 minutes before finding a park. The cafe was very busy and the food being brought out did look nice so I’d imagine it’s a great place to eat. However, the store just seemed to have the usual hideously expensive jams, chutneys and sauces with a fridge of condiments and some local cheeses. I bought some sourdough (which was nice) and asked the bakery staff if there was a fresh food section only to be told “it’s behind you but we don’t sell fruit & veg”. As it was pouring rain, we didn’t get to tour the farm so pretty much left with the sourdough, a cheese and a carton of eggs. For a farm, I wasn’t impressed.

Visited the Farm yesterday after seeing it online and was very underwhelmed. The whole setup was tired and desperately in need of sprucing up. Signs were worn and virtually unreadable. Ibis (bin chickens) swarmed everywhere, over tables stealing food from diners and generally fouling the area. After seeing those unhygienic tables we we decided to leave. Dogs roamed unleashed in the area as well as through the interior dining room . Food prices were comparable to really upmarket gourmet restaurants in major cities. Ordered a small takeaway coffee and received the smallest cup I have ever seen! Staff were at the best indifferent and the worst bordering on rude. The only good thing about the visit was the gelato. This place is a real tourist trap and I would never recommend anyone visit there. Proprietors of the Farm, please read reviews and improve your business.

We fell for the $45 “Sunday Roast” advertising. Turns out there was also a $10 surcharge each, because it was Sunday. (Could I have a Sunday Roast on Monday?). 1 drink included but charge for bubbly water, extra for desserts and starters, and then add the GST. The $45 Sunday Roast turned out to be $83 and not so special. Won’t be falling for this price gouging again.

On a road trip Bris to Syd, I planned to stop at The Farm to recharge the car and enjoy a decent lunch in the Three Blue Ducks. I waited at the sign to be seated and a man who would barely make eye contact with me said the restaurant did not open for another 20 mins. I asked if I could sit at a table until the kitchen opened (I could clearly see other tables were already occupied). He said, no, he could only take my booking for a table and I would need to come back in 20 minutes. Bear in mind, this is an open-sided barn in a field, not a silver service dining room. I said no, that was too much trouble and headed for the takeaway counter where quiches and sausage rolls are the only options. Despite 2 tills operating, it took the 2 counter staff about 15 minutes to work through the four people in front of me. Then I made a big mistake and ordered a coffee. That was another 10 minute queue. Standing in queues on cement floors for almost 1/2 hour is an unpleasant experience for anyone. I missed out on the nice lunch I had been looking forward to, eating cold quiche in my car instead, and I felt somewhat poorly treated. I think this is a very popular place for families, but it is possibly not the destination of choice for non-families.

Hi there,
We're planning to visit the farm on the coming weekend, and have a couple of questions.
Looks like we can still grab a table at ThreeBlueDucks, but as we have a little toddler who's very active, we're also looking into the picnic option.
On their website, it says that outside the restaurant, it is not licensed - does this mean that we cannot drink if we are eating on grass areas?
And are we not allowed to bring any drinks or food to the premises at all?
We're of course planning to mainly purchase food from the cafe and takeaway some dishes from the restaurant. But the food on their menu are quite limited and we were just wondering if it'd be okay or not to also bring some, especially for the kids.
If anyone knows the answers, and/or have any advice on your own picnic experience there, that'd be great! Cheers

There pretty chilled and heaps of toddler at playground, I think just ask and be responsible around the little ones they won't care, enjoy

You only need to book if you want to enjoy breakfast in the restaurant but you can have breakfast in the cafe without reservations. They do delicious pasties quiches and pies, coffees and some ready prepared sandwiches etc. If you want a cooked breakfast at Three Blue Ducks then definitely recommend you make a booking on a weekend.

There was no entry fee at all, we had a tour which cost us $50 per family of 4

Hi,
We were wanting to visit again while we are on holidays, however we have our dog with us this time. Do you allow dogs on the property and in the outdoor eating area?
Written 28 July 2015
Yes, dogs seem to be allowed on leads.
