About
Lone Goat Gallery is Byron Shire’s premier community gallery, presenting emerging and established artists from the Northern Rivers region alongside National and International artists. Located in the Byron Bay Library building in downtown Byron Bay, just a short walk from Main Beach - a quiet cultural haven among the hubbub of town. Lone Goat Gallery presents a monthly program of exhibitions, artists talks and workshops. The name Lone Goat Gallery was inspired by the last goat of a small herd that used to roam the Cape Byron headland by the Lighthouse, reflecting the creative and free-spirited individuals that make up this community. Lone Goat Gallery is managed by a Gallerist and supported by a team of Volunteers who sit the space. If volunteers are unavailable at short notice, advertised opening hours may be impacted.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Gallery hopping fits in between doing things. What i liked about this one was its independent curation which is quirky, perhaps dark in themes but nevertheless less diverse in presenting diversity from hereabouts and abroad. Its location is within the cool library which is across from the main beach. The offerings of Rohan Robinson and Beth Hatton drew a closer introspection and pleasing subject matter. The day we were there there were enough visitors to create a lively brunch crowd. Great lighting and staff extremely pleasant.

As I work close by I can simply walk to this Gallery attached to the LIbrary and casually browse what is the latest exhibition. A small space nothing grand, but love how it supports local artists and its just a nice little diversion during the day.

Lone Goat Gallery is a free gallery situated beside the Byron Bay Library. Opening night of Practising Arts Network Byron Bay Inc in May was fabulous The Gallery was packed with tourists, locals, artists and anyone who loves the art scene in Byron. Beautifully curated the exhibition featured some of the best artists in the local area. The space has lots of room to move around and is open all week during the day 10am to 4pm I think Exhibitions change regularly at least once a month. Its on of my places to go on a rainy day. Chill out Check out the art work and its free.

Art is a bit dark...not my taste. Good photography, staff was very pleasant and helpful. Good to visit on a rainy day.

We received a warm welcome and an invitation to have a look around, as well as meeting the artist currently showing. It is a very nice space and I like that they change the exhibitions regularly and give up and coming as well as established artists an opportunity to show. As it happens we did not particularly like the current exhibition but that doesn't detract from the place itself.

The Lone Goat Gallery in Byron Bay is a fantastic little gallery nestled in the Library and amongst all the surf shops and hippie stuff in the area, it’s free to get in and is a nice way to spend an hour or so. We were in the gallery recently as part of our drive around Australia and enjoyed our time there. The David Kas exhibit was interesting, my younger brother was intrigued by some of the works and the upcoming Sam Sosnowski looks neat too so we may have to come back in July if we are able to make it back to the area. Good gallery and I love libraries so it’s a good spot to check out.

It's a great stopover while strolling down to the beach. It takes about 30mins to view everything, but it really depends on how profound you'd look at the paintings. Free entry.
