Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This beach is better than main beach but at the time we were there it was a little bit of a washing machine. Would not be great for little kids unless they are with an adult in the water. Waves come in and go out at all different angles not straight in and out. I’m saying that we were still able to swim and enjoy ourselves. Don street is small but can park there and no cost and quick access to beach. If you stay in Childe street this is the beach you will visit. Dog beach too so if you don’t like dogs don’t go because they are always coming up to you with balls wanting you to throw them. We loved it

We went for a few morning walks along the beach. The first walk went out from the northern end and involved a creek crossing and a loop back to the caravan park. I think it was about 7 kms in total. The next couple of days involved a walk from the caravan park along Belongil beach to the break wall in town and then we drove to Belongil and walked to the point at Byron. very relaxing

Was our first time at a nudest beach.
Felt so relaxed. Fully naked. Amazing time. Lovely stroll up the beach.
Will be back again.

Our 2nd visit to Belongil and its quite a nice beach and access is straight from the car park (a pleasant change rather than walking km's), however, there are 2 lengthy sections of very potholed dirt road to traverse. Low vehicles beware! Considering that they ask for $8 when you get to the car park, one considers that the road should be a bit better maintained. For a nude beach not many "peacocks" or "meercats" so we can recommend this for couples - of which there were a few which is a pleasant change from a male dominated beach!

the nudist beach is amazing - very safe and friendly people. My wife and I are not nudists, but as they say, when in Rome.....lol
Highly recommend a nude romp on the nude beach :)

Greys lane beach is the best beach ever... It is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the naturalist life style... I love the beach, the people and the quiet existence

A visit to the nude beach was awesome. The beach is a long stretch of white sand and there is plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy privacy.

Great beach, great views, great walks and stunning sand. Great place to unwind and get an all over tan.
Tyagarah Tee Tree lakes full of perverts and weirdos, not recommended for hetero couples sadly. Beautiful but spoilt by the actions of a few.

Being avid nudists for over 30 years, my wife and I regularly drive from the Gold Coast to Belongil Beach (1 hr 15 mins) just to be able to lie on a great beach and swim in fairly safe waters without being hindered by clothes. Belongil Beach is just right for being yourself and enjoying what nature has to offer. The drive down Gray's Lane about 5kms before the Byron Bay turnoff can be a little bumpy on the unsealed road but well worth the trouble. Please be honest and pay the $7 all day parking at the end as it may encourage Council to grade the road more often. Don't forget your sunscreen and a sunshelter or umbrella and hopefully we will share the lovely beach together.

We spent a few days in the nude section of the beach and for most part, our stay was pleasant. We were first time nudists coz as they say when in Rome...
We had no idea what to expect really but we definitely felt comfortable enough as a whole to do it again. For the entire times that we were there, there was only one man that had an extremely long stare at my gf to the point of having to need to suddenly take a 'detour' near us when it was clear that there was no need! There were a few other blokes that had appreciative looks which was fine but most people didn't batter an eyelid which is the kind of vibe you get with byron as a whole.
In case you're wondering the nudie section starts from the 'sandbag' steps and goes north to the mangrove mouth. Then further north for a while...
To be honest, even if u were nude in the non designated area, as long as u keep to yourself, nobody really gives a damn. The whole vibe is so chilled that it seems like everyone isn't phased by anything!
