Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a very enjoyable and inspiring visit to the gallery, which is full of works by many fine artists. Lucky to see a range of works by Hape Kiddle and Ian Bell. Worth a trip down from Sydney - take the train!

What outstanding craftmanship is on display in this gallery. There are wonderful items that you can buy at every price-point: from a few dollars to tens of thousands. The display will excite every visitor, even if they do not buy. I loved the way that our purchases were carefully wrapped in paper (just like in the old days, before the use of plastic made us lazy).

Wow, the craftsmanship in here is fabulous.
We bought a beautifully crafted box especially for my grandfathers military medals. What a beatiful heirloom! And a fab stand for our nespresso pods!
Prices range from $ -$$$ so there is something for all budgets if you treasure wood crafting and buying local.
One of the best Gallerys I've been to in OZ.
Variety of wood and painted artists works.
Really friendly staff.

I have visited many times, could not count how many, over 15! And have never, not once, had a friendly greeting as I walk in. Not just terrible service, but non existent. The wooden pieces are beautiful though and I try to keep in mind that the rude people at the counter are most likely not the artists (at least I hope not). I have often purchased "special event" gifts here, wedding, 21st, etc. But after my last visit I think I will find a new "special gift" venue. Just sick of the rude, stuck up attitude.

Good afternoon,
We have put your review in our daily diary for each staff member to read. It is a deeply held policy that we greet people when they enter the Gallery and acknowledge them on leaving. It is of great concern to us that you did not enjoy your visits; we hope you will return so we can give you a better Gallery experience.
David Mac Laren the Owner and Director of the Gallery would like to give his personal apologies for not responding himself.
Kind regards,
Bungendore Wood Works Team

Pictures are restricted and I can see why as so much of the items are unique pieces.
The skill of the craftspeople here is on show. The items are of the highest quality and worthy of any shop in a major capital of the world. Amazing is the word that comes to mind.
If your travelling between Canberra and destinations north this is a must see.
I have included images of shops around that also add atmosphere to the area.

I bought a beautiful australian wood nib pen a little while ago and the clip broke.
I rang the gallery to get a replacement clip and they offered to replace the entire pen This was good old fashioned service. I received the pen two days later in the mail.
I spoiled myslef buying this beautiful pen (it was not cheap) BUT I was repaid when the true nature of the shop was revealed through this experience.
I will vist every time i go to Bungendore
Thankyou
