Wow, the craftsmanship in here is fabulous.
We bought a beautifully crafted box especially for my grandfathers military medals. What a beatiful heirloom! And a fab stand for our nespresso pods!
Prices range from $ -$$$ so there is something for all budgets if you treasure wood crafting and buying local.
One of the best Gallerys I've been to in OZ.
Variety of wood and painted artists works.
Really friendly staff.

I bought a beautiful australian wood nib pen a little while ago and the clip broke.

I rang the gallery to get a replacement clip and they offered to replace the entire pen This was good old fashioned service. I received the pen two days later in the mail.

I spoiled myslef buying this beautiful pen (it was not cheap) BUT I was repaid when the true nature of the shop was revealed through this experience.

I will vist every time i go to Bungendore

Thankyou

Very interesting but very pricey don’t think your average person will be buying to much there but saying that the products there are top quality. Still worth a look while in Bungendore

Your perception of the Gallery as "very pricey" but "top quality" is one we encounter from time to time, and it is the challenge for us, as it is for just about all Australian made products. We hope post Covit there will be far fewer container loads of cheap mass produced products arriving on our docks, and that the public will understand well made things cost more and they will support Australian manufacturing. This Gallery pays up to 200 makers and artists for their works. I know none these people are making a lot of money. Nor is this Gallery. We have got by for 37 years by just getting by, and being supported by an Australian public. Please visit us again. I am sure you will find some things that are well made, and at a good price for you. Thank you for taking the time to respond on Tripadvisor, David mac Laren OAM

Pictures are restricted and I can see why as so much of the items are unique pieces.
The skill of the craftspeople here is on show. The items are of the highest quality and worthy of any shop in a major capital of the world. Amazing is the word that comes to mind.
If your travelling between Canberra and destinations north this is a must see.
I have included images of shops around that also add atmosphere to the area.

Thank you soooo much for your concise and spoton review. You know it so often happens that our best reviews and responses are from first time visitors to the gallery, who are often prompted by friends who have been. I think your comment about “at reasonable prices” is a really important insight, because our makers and artists are some of the lowest paid in Australia. If you would like to receive our Newsletters you can go to our website to subscribe. Much has happened to the gallery with the road closure and the fires and smoke. Or you can reply here with your email and we can send you our next Newsletter that will be sent out soon. Many thanks, David Mac Laren OAM

I have visited many times, could not count how many, over 15! And have never, not once, had a friendly greeting as I walk in. Not just terrible service, but non existent. The wooden pieces are beautiful though and I try to keep in mind that the rude people at the counter are most likely not the artists (at least I hope not). I have often purchased "special event" gifts here, wedding, 21st, etc. But after my last visit I think I will find a new "special gift" venue. Just sick of the rude, stuck up attitude.

Good afternoon, We have put your review in our daily diary for each staff member to read. It is a deeply held policy that we greet people when they enter the Gallery and acknowledge them on leaving. It is of great concern to us that you did not enjoy your visits; we hope you will return so we can give you a better Gallery experience. David Mac Laren the Owner and Director of the Gallery would like to give his personal apologies for not responding himself. Kind regards, Bungendore Wood Works Team

This is must visit if you love fine woodwork. Even if you don't when you go in, you will when you come out. Beautiful artifacts wonderfully presented. I just wish they were a little lower in price.

We recently returned to the Woodworks gallery and found it even better than the last time we visited. The gallery houses beautiful and creative works of art in wood. The items are not cheap but when you consider the time involved in their creation then you understand that all items are realistically priced. The Leatherwork shop across the road is also worth a visit.
