For all things maritime this is the place! There is a huge slice of history at the museum for those of you who feel the call of the sea!

Cluttered, but still pretty good. Run by volunteers, and has a number of cool models. Even a life size replica (or is it) of the con tiki.

We spent a lovely 2 hours wandering around this well run museum, so much to see and only $5.00 per adult the volunteers do an amazing job running this private museum. Enjoyed the Las Balsas exhibition and DVD presentation, really enjoyed.

As far as Naval museums go this would have to be one of the best privately run museums around. Not just a little hall with books and medals, this museum has full size attractions like the Le Balsa raft, massive model battle ships, interactive ships...More

We visited this museum and came out thinking this place was a treasure trove of artefacts and information! The actual raft “La Balsa” was so interesting and so too was the accompanying video. There were lots of other collections here that were unique. The amount...More

This is one very extensive museum. The volunteers have done an awesome job in keeping this museum as good as it is. They have information on anything Naval, or Shipping in this area. Well worth a visit!

This museum is small but very interesting, and takes some time to see all the exhibits. It has a big raft as the centrepiece of the exhibits. There is a small entry fee.

A must see if you have any interest in maritime or naval. The displays included a number of static artefacts of electronic warfare (dating from around WW2) that I have not seen up close before. Definitely worth the $5 admission price.

I think you would be allowed to after asking the people at front desk and explaining why you need to. The men on the front desk were very helpful and informative when I was there. They could offer an alternative also. There... More
