We went to the Indian restaurant at avoca where they had a 3 course dinner with a movie ticket included for $30pp. The meal was great and the cinema is incredible. It has a small gift shop and a very comfy cinema. Would definitely recommend

In the bygone days of personal service with cinemas and having an atmosphere which is different from the large volume based cinema, this one is unique, small, cosy and relaxing, no large crowds and actual edible food

Absolutely love this place, you can watch a movie and drink wine at the same time! The cinema itself is so romantic with deep red walls and little chandeliers, we have been to see world class performances such as David Helfgott, and also to see...More

If you are ever on the central coast and want some culture then this place fits the bill. The setting is superb as generally are the productions. There are also some good cafes and restaurants near by to go to before or after the theatre...More

Like others who have written, this satisfies all the senses. It is civilised, an ice cream or a glass of champagne to enjoy watching a great movie - not the typical juvenile choice offered at the Erina multiplex not too far away. On any week,...More

Well done Avoca Beach Picture Theatre for continuing to offer great mainstream movies as well as the more unusual and interesting. This theatre has redefined what 'going to the pictures' can mean. They have wonderful theme nights based around cultures, music and international events. They...More

What I like about the theatre is the seats and just everything else. The ice-creams, the champagne and being able to take my glass into the theatre and sit like an adult and be able to enjoy my drink without it being in a plastic...More

I love to go and see movies at this beautiful cinema, along with other special events. It is always delightful, and it's historical beauty reminds me of my childhood trips to the 'pictures', before the big impersonal companies moved in and took over the little people. Here you...More

This is a fantastic example of what you can do with a single screen cinema if you can just keep it relevant to the patrons. The prices remain reasonable ($12 adult), the snack bar has really good homemade biscuits on offer, along with traditional choc...More

I agree: what a great little theatre. Great movies and live events, and a meeting place for locals. But go there quickly if you want to experience it. Because unfortunately the owners have lodged a development application to turn it into a five screen multiplex...More

There is no on site parking. Allow plenty of time in busy periods. May have to walk some distance.
