We've been in Cornwall for a week and today is our last day so we decided to take a drive to Redruth as it's just up the road and the 'old mining town' history sounded interesting. Good God, what's happened? We first parked up and...More

Redruth is an old Cornish mine centre. The actual shopping centre doesnt attract too many. Its on a steep hill and not many shops to attract visitors. Worth an hour or 2 to look at some of the older buildings though.

I took a trip to Redruth again today to notice several new and interesting shops at the top and bottom of the hill. Modern and alternative. Just what we need to inject some life and interest in to the town.

We visited today, the high street is one long steep hill, filled with banks and charity shops. If you are disabled or have walking issues then it's not for you. The council need to take a look at this village and make some changes.

Visited there after getting a leaflet showing different places of interest. We walked from one place to another following the map and were very disappointed with what we saw. Parking was expensive and the town was dirty.

This should be a thriving little town, but it's full of banks and charity shops. The council is so greedy and charges so much for parking, no one wants to go there as it costs too much. The town centre should be beautiful. It's very...More

Now this should be a prized little town, full of history, with a good historical centre, a lovely railway stn, and good Cornish folk, but with every visit, we see it crumbling into just another nondescript impoverished former notable location. The locals look depressed, and...More

I'm not sure about millage, but about 30 minutes travelling by car. It's an easy road to travel along.
