About
Polkerris Beach combines an idyllic sandy Cornish cove with first class watersports facilities. It's as good for a day trip as it is for a two-week holiday or intensive watersports course. From the smallest sandcastle-building toddler to the seasoned watersport enthusiast, there is something for everyone here. Picture this - a sheltered, sandy beach in a small village, self-catering accommodation just up the lane, no through traffic, a beach shop and café, equipment rental so you don't have to lug everything with you and personalised windsurfing and sailing courses at our award-winning, RYA Recognised Training Centre. Round that off with a beer in the Rashleigh Inn as the sun sets and you have the makings of the perfect Cornish beach scene - or dine in style at 'Sam's on the Beach' which has proved extremely popular since it opened in 2009.

Sam's on the Beach. Brilliant service, very cheerful and friendly staff. Excellent food, slightly pricey, good value, nice selection of local ales

One of the nicest Cornish beaches
Aug. 2021 • Couples
We visited here for a restful beach day. It is about a 10 minute walk downhill from the car park, car park has a honesty box and is only a few pounds for all day. We have a campervan and there was plenty of space. The walk back is all uphill. It is a lovely, mostly sandy beach. There is a shop selling lots of items and drinks & ice creams. There is a restaurant. A great find for us, we loved it, one of the best beaches in Cornwall. Sea was quite still lots of paddle boarders and good for snorkelling.

Well managed beach - great day out
Aug. 2021 • Family
Great beach, well protected and mostly sand. Well managed water equipment hire - make sure you book on line before you go. We hired kayaks and had a great trip out along the shoreline. Car park busy - if a sunny day and you are arriving at lunchtime suggest you head straight to the overflow. Pub by the beach has great food and very friendly service (no need to book). All in all a great day out.

Brilliant water sports lesson.

Absolutely epic Stand-up paddle boarding lesson from Poppy. Everything was really well done, thought out Covid precautions, and a really great lesson. Going out round the coast to see other beaches and was peaceful and lovely. My eldest at 10 really enjoyed himself. 2 hours well spent and I though it was excellent value.

Lovely little cove to spend a couple of hours and grab a bite to eat
Jul. 2021
Lovely little cove to spend a couple of hours and grab a bite to eat but parking/road in was a nightmare! Breathe in on those Cornish roads! More people there than I thought there would be.

Great paddleboarding lesson
Aug. 2021
The 5 stars is for the paddleboarding lesson, which one adult and 2 children loved. The tutor was very patient and good fun, the wet suits fitted and life jackets supplied.

The beach itself was very crowded, as you would expect mid August. I think there is a need for another snack bar/ice cream shop in the high season.

If the car park half way down the hill is full, there is another near the top

A great find on the coastal path

A great find from Par walking via the SW coastal path. So nice not to see traffic clogged streets and yet a fantastic beach in a cosy cove.

Hidden gem of a beach

Beautiful small bay with lovely sand, a pub, a restaurant & nice little shop with gallery. Car park is up a steep hill from beach unless you're visiting the pub.
