We were lucky enough to visit on a sunny October day and saw the castle bathed in sunlight and blue skies. The castle will take about an hour to see the inside and outside although you could extend this by walking in some of the...More

We went to this castle, which at first notion I was not altogether bothered about seeing. It’s off the beaten track and not very well signposted. There is a sign for the ruin which is at the entrance to a private farm. Go past that...More

Off the A390 and down a single track road, with plenty of passing places, to a small car park; capacity about 25 cars. This might be a problem on a sunny, summer weekend. It would be a long walk from the centre of Lostwithiel. The...More

Visited the castle during a stay in Lostwithiel. Walked from our hotel which took about 30 minutes and the route is quite steep towards the end. Interesting to see the layout of the castle and the information boards were very useful. Only drawback was that...More

We decided to walk there from our local hotel In Lostwithiel but my goodness it is steep to climb coupled with approximately 42 steps once you reach the keep. However once up there the views are marvellous and the keep itself very interesting with diagrams...More

It would have been about £4 each but as we joined English Heritage that day, it was included in our membership fees.
