Opened in 1967 Magnificent Music Machines was for over 40 years a World famous collection of Mechanical Music. Paul Corin closed his Museum in 2012. Paul still carries on with his business of the restoration of player pianos and organs, but has now decided to re open to the public. Over the past 3 years the Organ Room at Magnificent Music Machines has been undergoing refurbishment for the planned use as a unique Wedding Venue. The Organ Room still retains the wonderful 1929 Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ from what was Brighton's most famous Cinema " The Regent". Call in for a 45 minute performance of music with an explanation of all the effects for silent films and discover why Cinema Organs of which there around 500 in the UK were such an important part of the entertainment scene from the 1920's to as late as the early 1950's. You can still hear the Wurlitzer at the Tower Ballroom Blackpool daily throughout the Summer and also at the famous Thursford Collection in Norfolk. Why not combine your visit with a railway trip on the scenic Looe valley Line, recently featured on the Channel 4 Television Programme "Secret stations" with Paul Merton who paid a visit to Magnificent Music Machines to hear the Wurlitzer. Ask the Guard to stop the train so you can alight at " St Keyne Wishing Halt " which a 2 minute walk from the Organ Room and re join the train and continue your journey to Looe or Liskeard one hour later.

Magnificent Music Machines is also my business for the... More

Sadly, this attraction was closed down in 2012, as mentioned in Denzilpenberty's review, which I fortunately read before making the trip to visit.

After spending a couple of hours trying to find this ‘attraction’ (the main access roads in the area were closed because of roadworks) we eventually stumbled across the attraction. We parked the car and crossed the road. All appeared to be derelict. What a waste of an afternoon! It would have been nice if somebody had put that this was... More

The player pianos and Wurlitzer organ are of course wonderful in their own right, but what really makes the experience is Paul's enthusiasm and expertise - he clearly loves what he does. Not only does he own a fabulous collection, but he also repairs and refurbishes such instruments around the country. Such a shame it will be closing soon! There... More

I had a wonderful trip to Paul Corins magnificent music machines. Paul himself was very knowledgable, fascinating and infectious in sharing his love for his music machines. I would highly recommend this tourist attraction as one of Cornwall's hidden gems.

Whether mechanically minded, musically inclined or just generally interested in history and innovation, a visit to Paul Corin's Magnificent Music Machines will prove well worthwhile. I found Paul himself to hold, an honest love of his subject, an in-depth knowledge, as well as an endearingly eccentric nature. Magnificent!
