Cool caves, something different

We dropped in to the caves for a quick look around, very interesting experience, and we took some cool photos. A lovely and friendly service at the main desk.

This is an old slate quarry, which doubles as a concert and wedding venue as well as a tourist attraction. We were given w/ a hard hat, a torch and a map of the caverns and in we went - we took our time and took in the concert venue as well as the underground lake which looked fantastic, clear... More

We had a voucher from Groupon which meant that myself, my husband and two children entered the caverns for £6.50 - a bargain. My son loved the underground 'lakes' and he was particularly fond of the fairy woodland walk - spotting dragons and fairies hiding in the glen.

We visited Carnglaze Caverns whilst we were in Cornwall for our wedding. What a beautiful place! Our two girls loved visiting the caverns and especially enjoyed the woodland fairy walk afterwards.

The caverns are absolutely beautiful. The moment we set foot inside we were blown away with the size and atmosphere. We loved it so much we booked our wedding there and were stunned with the place every visit we made on the run up to it. We had our ceremony next to the underground lake which was stunning. My kids (7 &6) love crystals and outdoor stuff and adventures (have walked to the top of tors on Bodmin and Dartmoor in the last few weeks) but we went here and it was terrible. So unimaginative, there is nothing to touch or do and the centre piece really isn't that special. Really don't bother, it should be made free... More

We went to an evening concert in the caves, a very competent Pink Floyd tribute band. The owner introduced them and told us something of the history of the caves. Sound was reasonable considering the unusual situation and once the sound guy had got the measure of it. Good selection of reasonably priced beers served in the cave, didn't try... More

Nice quirky place to visit, issued with a safety helmet , torch and map and off you go at your own pace. Weddings evidently can be performed here , though it'd be a little cool I reckon. Very interesting place and while not cheap for a family certainly worth considering on those damp days. I do think children would be... More
