Really love the atmosphere in here. Local ales, local folk, all enjoying the experience.
I'd really recommend the 3/4 gluten free ale they had in recently (can't recall the name). It was quite strong, but really nice! It went down way too easily!
Local micro brewery family run. Lots of real ales, larger and beers. Also a nice selection of gins.
Traditional pub feel. No tv. People chatting and dogs allowed.
No under 18s either.
Lovely escape from same old same old in pubs.
This is by far the best kept secret in NLW - micro brewery pub with beers/ ciders changed weekly
No kids (no under 21s allowed) No music- No TV - just good beer
Staff are knowledgable about their stock and hugely friendly

Not sure which town you may mean but a group of ladies might want to try something different with a half of real ale or a shared bottle of wine in the Firkin on Saturday afternoon when it is not too crowded followed by an Italian meal at Ariet's. Both are in the High Street Newton -le-Willows. Best to book for Ariet's. If you have energy after that try the Oak Tree pub where there is usually a good 'group' every Sat evening.
