Bridlington Spa is a theatre, ballroom, art gallery and conference centre...

Bridlington Spa is a theatre, ballroom, art gallery and conference centre located on the south bay of Bridlington. Originally built in 1896, the building has undergone four rebuilds/refurbishments over the years; the latest being a £20M refurbishment between 2006 and 2008.

The venue features a huge Art Deco Ballroom, Edwardian proscenium-arched theatre with flytower, art gallery displaying local artists' work and a cafe benefiting from panoramic views across the beach and sea. You can see as far as Withernsea on a clear day.

The venue is home to touring musicals on the Yorkshire Coast, is known for producing it's own theatre and repertory season and is often used by top names in the music industry to launch arena tours.

The venue's programme features in excess of 400 entertainment shows each year as well as more than 350 business events.

Bridlington Spa is open every day of the year with the exception of Christmas Day.

Don't know how this venue gets health and safety certificate as upper circle access to seats is diabolical. No lower or central aisles to access your seats. Thank goodness there wasn't any kind of emergency to evacuate or it would have been mayhem.

Hi Dibs1939 Thanks for your review. The Upper Circle of the theatre has a central aisle and always has done. The cross over point to the centre is at row E or you can enter from the opposite side of the auditorium. In the event of an emergency our trained stewards would have very quickly evacuated everyone from the building;... More

So many people sulking about temperature of the venue and it being busy at Madness, probably the same kind of people who would moan it wasn't very busy if it had 3000 people in. Did you not go out as teenagers, can you not remember the buzz of being in an absolutely packed out sweaty concert, nothing has changed since... More

Hi Frances Thanks for your review. I'm delighted that you enjoy visiting Bridlington Spa. Your comments about parking are peculiar though. Our staff try to direct customers to free parking where possible but beyond that there is plenty of parking available. Parking is available in the metered zone directly south of the venue and there are hundreds of spaces just... More

We love visiting the Spa for coffee and to watch the ever changing sea views from the fab 30's style windows. Usually has a painting exhibition on for a quick browse. Looking forard to seeing Elbow there on Tuesday. Seen Kaiser Chiefs and Paul Heaton there previously and been impressed by the organisation and sound quality.

The Spa refurbishment will improve the dining experience once completed it is intended to serve more hot food once the work is completed and it is back to full use. The restaurant is temporarily housed on the street side and the sea views are blocked off just now.

There was 'snow' delivered from on high at the start of the interval as it was Snow White. Unfortunately our seats (D21 to D24) together with ourselves were soaked through as the machine failed to stop dispensing soap suds. Eventually towels were placed on our seats so that we could watch the second half. Hair, jumpers and coats had to... More

Hello Cynthia N Thank you for the comments in your review. I apologise to you for any misunderstanding but we have responded to your requests for information. As we discussed when you came to Bridlington Spa a few days after the pantomime, the artificial snow used in the auditorium just before the interval was made up of a light detergent... More
