I love this theatre and I was so excited when one of my favourite artist was appearing. I booked our tickets right at the front as soon as they went on sale. I was delighted on the night to be so close to the stage...More

Visited Stockport Plaza to see Sarah Millican last night. When we were eventually allowed into the theatre out of the rain, we descended to a small, dark dungeon which was the bar. Two choices of draught beer: Carling, the lowest common denominator of lagers and...More

The cafe is excellent & in keeping with the era of the Plaza. Volunteers keep the place going & work so hard to make visitors welcome. The shows are varied & of excellent quality. Live film / theatre streaming is a particular favourite.

A beautiful period piece of Art Deco. We had a guided tour given by enthusiastic volunteers, who are rightly proud of what they have achieved. The cafe offered soup and sandwiches or afternoon tea, served by friendly waiting staff.

Looking for lunch after a great visit to the Hat Museum close by, we came across The Plaza theatre/cinema and noticed signs for a café. What a delight on the upper floors when we entered this art deco masterpiece. A real step back in time...More

I've been to The Plaza several times in recent years, always to watch comedians. jimmy Carr, Jason Manford, and this time, Russell Brand. The theatre is traditional in style, but just as wonderfully attired. It's large, without losing the intimate audience feel. As such, Russell...More

We visited the Plaza on Saturday morning, desperate for a bacon sandwich. It's much more than a cafe. The decadent art deco style takes one right back to retro 1950,s!The cafe has the feel of palm court splendour, and would be a perfect venue for a tea dance....More
