My partner found this country castle which houses the museum. Very pleasant and helpful staff with an interesting coach and gypsy museum and various buildings of farming interest from a cider mill to a blacksmiths shop. The actual museum is a little disappointing, as the trip through the house is poorly sign-posted, and it is quite easy to miss certain... More

Interesting, informative, a delight and well worth a visit. Be transported back in time in a Victorian scullery and laundry set, imagine if you can how people lived. Enter the school classroom, far different than todays' school rooms. Enjoy the toy collection with a Steiff Bear and much more for children and adults alike. Handmade greetings cards, clothes and accessories... More

Large exhibition of machinery and gypsy caravans> Then three floors of other exhibits. Well worth a visit, nice little cafe also but no WiFi which is a bit behind the times

Visited this splendid understated museum for the first time today. The collection is presented with plenty of clever ideas to grab kids attention. Highlights were the array of gypsy caravans, toys and doll houses. There is a school house and a room dedicated to the castles time as a war hospital. All in all a surprisingly excellent couple or hours.

Having been disappointed with my visit with 7 year old grand-daughter to Birmingham museum I found everything I could wish for here. Interaction in abundance. Laundry room, kitchen, school room with everything explained in detail. Treasure hunt we had it all. A truly great day out.

This is one of my favourite places to take my grandchildren on a visit during school holidays. There is always a range of activities going on and couple the activity programme with a very varied museum, you will find that there is plenty to do all day long. The Romany caravans are stunning and the translated words allow us to... More

A really interesting place to visit - even on a rainy day. Lots of interactive exhibits and great information in all the rooms. Staff were really helpful and very patient with the children and there is a small shop with lots of pocket money items. There is a cafe, but it is closed until Feb half term. Would definitely come... I've been past the drive to this Museum many times and never called in. When I did I was amazed, a magnificent array of Gypsy caravans, a Castle 3 motor car, built in Kidderminster ( I think the only complete model left in the World.) Lovely social history galleries and other galleries too numerous to mention. Our 2 year old... More
