Brouse more than 180 shops in the 2nd widest High Street in Britain. The shops, interspersed with historical buildings and churches, make up a High Street as they used to be! On Saturdays Marlborough has an excellent Market

Visited Marlborough on a Tuesday night. Plenty of pubs to try and many restaurants beckon. We did a complete circuit of pubs and then to Steins fish restaurant. Great evening and lovely picturesque high street.

Marlborough High Street is the widest high street in Britain, or so they say. I haven't checked that out but it certainly looks it. It's a shame cars are parked all down the middle but understandable that the space is used for parking. More to...More

It's probably because most of Marlborough's medieval city centre was gutted by fire in the early 1650s that it was able to be rebuilt in a grand style with a High Street wide enough to accommodate a market in the middle. Dominated by a town...More
