Great walk following the course of this flight of locks on the Kennet and Avon canal. Always lots of wildlife to see as well as the barges.

Quite muddy in the winter and it might be more interesting in the summer when more people are actually using the locks. Small fee for the car park that is payable in the small cafe. Despite only a few tables inside and out the cafe must rake it in as the service is fast and the produce delicious! There is... More

The Caen Hill Locks are a must when visiting Somerset, it is a truly unique set of 29 locks with a rise of 237ft all within 2 miles. There is a lovely old tea shop on site with tables inside and out serving hot and cold snacks, teas and coffee, some interesting old pictures adorn the walls and the toilets... More

You should give these a go climbing the K and A canal. A small café half way up, and of course the town of Devizes for great beers at the top. A pretty unique experience.

We came across the locks while walking along the canal path. What an amazing feat of building works! Well worth a visit even if, like ourselves, you are not "boat people". Highly recommended.

We were staying at the nearby campsite, and decided to walk into Devizes, along the canal. The locks are quite a sight, and feat of engineering. Lovely Winter scenery along the way, and the volunteers from the Canal and River Trust were on hand with lots of information. Lots of photo opportunities. Devizes is well worth a visit, too.
