Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the mother ship of Chinese Communist Party history as well as a total veneration of Mao. In addition to a wealth of charts, maps and photos depicting the era of the 20's through 1949, the museum presents spin and revisionist history at its best.
All of the significant events have English descriptions. Seeing "purges" described as "party rectification" and reading of defeats described as "strategic movements" lends enjoyable irony to the exhibit.

This revolutionary memorial complex is large and sprawling, and is very popular with large groups of predominantly domestic tour groups.
It is definitely worth visiting when in yan'an, as it presents the chinese cultural revolution from a unique perspective.

This is a reasonable celebration of communist history. It is probably the reason you are in town. 1 hour is enough. It will be better if you have prior knowledge of the history.

If you’re traveling in Shaanxi and interested in a Chinese Communist History lesson, this is the place. The place is a huge museum. Everything from Mao ze dong era is available to see at the place. AT THE TIME I WENT THERE WERE NO ENGLISH GUIDES.

We had a museum guide to bring us around the place. The guide is very good, informative. He brought us through the whole memorial hall, showed us the essential displayed. It brightens my knowledge of the early days of Red Army, and the humble beginning of Mao Zedong and his comrades, the struggles with the war both internal and exterior. The defeat and the victory.
Too engaged with the guide explanation, we forgotten to take pictures in the museum.

This Museum was the impetus for my trip to Yan'an. The facility is clean and spacious. The exhibits were mostly in Chinese but there was enough English to get the general idea. I had done my homework so it all made sense to me. The Gift shop had the typical stuff but I found a coffee mug with CCP slogans on it that I had to have. It is only a short walk up the hill to the caves that were used during the Yan'an period. It was over 100 degrees the day I visited yet the caves were cool and a welcome respite!!
