Have been here a few times and even on a grey day, it's lovely. They had a great festival on Memorial Day, lots of talented vendors.

This is a 10-20 yard wide strip of land between 2 lane & pretty busy Front St & the River, with a sidewalk, some different sculptures & statues, & some exercise locations. OK for a walk if you're staying near the river. I just drive...More

The trail overlooks the river and has some excellent views. Is perfect for walking, running, biking, or whatever activity you have in mind. Gets fairly busy on weekends and the evening in the summer so you have to be extra careful if in wheels not...More

We were lucky, and the weather was perfect for taking long walks along the Susquehanna River. They have an amazing variety of flowers growing along it, and there's fascinating wildlife, also. This was my first time to see groundhogs in the wild - how cool!...More

We must have walked along the paths 5 or 6 times in our 2 days in Harrisburg - both to get to places as well as to take a nice evening walk.

Tucked between the bustle of Harrisburg (come on, Philadelphians, Harrisburg does bustle) and the Susquehanna River, this walk has plenty to see, but the river—which is why John Harris, Sr. started a ferry business here gives a connection to that time.

Harrisburg is a river city. Riverfront park places you between the river and the city. Come for an early morning stroll, a romantic evening walk as the sun sets, or a day downtown for one of the many festivals along the Susquehanna. Kudos to the...More

Improved maintenance, plantings and river views make this a pleasant stroll that you can take at your own pace. Let's not pretend there's anything spectacular, awe-inspiring or even breath-taking about the vistas, but most of the views of the West Shore are serene. The grazing...More

City Island is free if there's no event (baseball games, etc). Otherwise there's metered parking that accepts debit/credit cards.
