We went to the National Civil War Museum the part of town it was in didn't seem that nice that's just my personal opinion. The downtown area was nice but it was Sunday and not that many people around. We stayed North of town and...More

We enjoy going downtown and enjoy what it has to offer. The river is beautiful and many buildings are gorgeous. There are many restaurants that are favorites and we enjoy trying new ones. El Sol, Bricco, Cafe Fresca are wonderful. We just tried Cork and...More

While the people are generally friendly there are way too many homeless people panhandling. Also there are only certain blocks downtown you can walk safely at night.

Winos, drunks, addicts, homeless and lots of scary people. Even in front of first rate hotels, they constantly panhandle. Not a good impression for visitors and guests.

I had to go downtown, I like the streets named after our forefathers. The statues and leaders making it's statesmen. A powerful landmark.

Back in the day there was little to do in town. Over the years a hotel here, an eatery there, and things have improved. Lots of places to get a drink, a few places to eat interesting food. Add to this a beautiful river, a...More

The installation of expensive on street parking meters in Harrisburg has made parking, inconvenient, chaotic and expensive, completely ruining visits to the city and hampering the many fine establishments downtown. It's completely out of control and has narrowed our enthusiasm for going into town before...More

Nice city. There are a lot of bars and restaurants in downtown Harrisburg. Seems to be a drinking man's town!
