I simply love this state park. They have a dog camp ground and one that don't. The trails are amazing, to the theathers at night. I loved our family's trip up there, and would highly recommend you give it a try.

Caledonia is a wonderful park any time of the year. Hiking, fishing, swimming and just plenty of area for outdoor fun. Picnic tables streamside, large fields for playing ball or flying kites. Easy trails or moderate also the AT passes right through the park. Large swimming pool for summer and lots of campsites

Fortunately we live just 10 minutes from this gem of a park--AT runs through this park so one can hike on that part of the AT, as well on many other well marked trails of variable length and difficulty. Excellent bathroom facilities, huge parking lots, numerous grilling and picnic areas, a very large spring fed swimming pool and a visitor's... More

Caledonia State Park has the most beautiful Rhododendron Trail which everyone should see on the .4 mile easy loop walk on the Whispering Pines Nature Trail! Sooooo gorgeous even in off season, when we came! Such a peaceful, beautiful trail...you'll just love it! We also enjoy The Thaddeus Stevens Trail that starts where the old furnace is next to the... I started off this review with the date because during the week the campground was empty as school was still in session. On the weekend when it filled up, it got very crowded. The campsites are nothing to talk about. Very little privacy. But excellent bicycling and hiking, as well as a fun creek for the kids to play in.... More

There are several great hiking trails to enjoy for the outdoor enthusiast. The park also abuts the Michaux State Forest which offers even more trails for the hiker. Caledonia has a nice swimming pool near the park office, picnic areas, open fields near Route 30, camping of various types, and some historical sites. The park entry is free, lots of... More

While I am only giving this place 2 circles, I will say that I would ABSOLUTELY try to stay here again in the future. We made a reservation to camp here in early December (one of the few remaining state parks still open that time of year) while spending some time exploring several National Park sites. Deer season was also... More

This park is a great place to take your friends or family for a camping week, or just a day trip. You can hike, wade in the creek or swim in the public swimming pool- beautiful pool, by the way! There are picnic tables & charcoal grills to use, & I personally, have met several friends for breakfast there- grilling... More
