This theatre in downtown Carlisle is a wonderfully restored old theatre. It sat empty for many years before finally being restored to its old glory. It is a terrific venue for live music and other live performances, but also for good films. The interior is beautiful.

The Carlisle Theatre was purchased and renovated to its early glory by the Carlisle Regional Performing Arts Center, a nonprofit group formed by local citizens. It is a stylish and imposing old theatre and the film offerings and live performances are interesting and electic. I have had the opportunity to participate in some of their live performances, and have been... More

Visited theater through film program hosted by Synergy. Was surprised how large theater vestibule and seating was for a downtown venue.

I worked at the Carlisle Theatre from 1968 to 1972, and have many fond memories. Nowadays I don 't get there often, but admire the efforts of everyone involved in maintaining this art deco original. Unfortunately, It is essentially a big empty room, and the sound, whether from the beautifully updated digital movies or a live band, is full of... More

Went to see a performance of "Anything Goes" at this lovely little community theatre. They have some performers who are very good, with wonderful voices & good dancing skills. They put on a very solid performance, and the venue is an old theatre setting, which is wonderful that they have been able to keep it going. If you are looking... More

Carlisle Theatre is an old fashioned theatre with a balcony and exceptional views, no matter where you sit. The price is right for movies or entertainment.

Carlisle Theater is an old art deco downtown theater in the small college town of Carlisle, PA. He has both live performances and good independent movies. The movies are the best deal in town. If you buy a multiple pass, you only pay $5 per ticket and get free popcorn. Other snacks and drinks are available for very little money.... More

Nice old theatre with red crushed velvet seats, balcony, etc... Comfortable seats. Good place to see a movie or a show.

We absolutely LOVE "Hairspray", and I purchased tickets as soon as I saw it would be in town, and well enough in advance so we could have good seats (front row/balcony). The good: 1) the theatre has a lot of personality, 2) acoustics are great, 3) easy to access/parking is easy. The bad: We paid $25/ticket to see the show.... More

Saw a movie here with my daughter. Great, old theater. Beautiful inside. Was nice to show her how movie theaters used to be. Cheap popcorn with real butter. Pleasant staff.
