The house lights dim... A hush settles over the audience in this Lancaster theatre... When the cast steps on stage, you're in for a treat. Our Bird-in-Hand Stage offers exceptional entertainment including musical theatre and magic shows. It's an intimate theatrical experience that keeps Guests coming back. Presented in conjunction with Blue Gate Musicals, relevant and meaningful Broadway-style musicals from Amish Country have made our stage one of Lancaster County's must-see stops for live performances. In 2017, we are thrilled to welcome back the illusions of Brett A. Myers and to present the new musical Mennonite Girls Can Cook. So escape your everyday world for a little while and enjoy our live stage shows. You'll find yourself laughing, holding your breath, gasping, tapping your toes - uplifted and fully entertained. To enhance your Amish Country theatre experience, come early or stay after the show to taste the bounty of our table. Enjoy a meal at our Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant & Smorgasbord or grab lighter fare at the nearby Bird-in-Hand Bakery & Cafe. And if you're not in a hurry to head home, we offer several options for lodging. We invite you to stay and experience Smucker family hospitality. You'll find even more reasons to applaud!

My husband and I made a weekend of it. We stayed at the hotel, had dinner, then went downstairs to the play. It was really, really, nice. Absolutely wonderful! The actors and actresses did a truly professional job of playing their characters. The play was 'Josiah For President', a slapstick kind of production and full of laughs. We are looking... More

My wife and I wanted to take a day and do something Christmasy the week between Christmas & New Year. We found the Bird in Hand Inn had a Buffet and Christmas show, musical comedy, playing yet this week. We booked a 7:00 show. We spent the day visiting markets and Amish sites, arrived at the Inn at 5:15 and... More

As usual, a very well-done production. Cast was superb, Story line was uplifting an very appropriate for the the season of the Savior Jesus Christ's birth. Musical talents were off the chart. BRAVO!!! Looking forward to the next production.

We watched "Our Christmas Dinner" and we loved it. As with all the shows we attended, the real meaning of Christmas was presented, but it was so funny as well. Make a point of seeing this performance ( but don't forget the buffet). Yummmm

We have enjoyed the shows performed at the Bird In Hand Stage and always stay at their family inn,as well as dine at the restaurant. It is our favorite place to stay, dine and be entertained. The hospitality is the best and very family oriented.

You have got to see this Christmas show. The cast had me laughing and crying at the same time. These 8 professionals performed beyond the call of duty. There was definitely a message in their performance. They definitely presented the Christ child and the real meaning of Christmas

There is a lot of truth in this musical. Considering what politics in Washington is like, Josiah for President offers a bit of hope. If only our politicians in Washington could take an honest look at them selves and examine there motives for service as did the characters on this stage. Our country would be a lot better off. A... While visiting Lancaster County, PA we had lunch upstairs and saw the musical "Josiah for President" at the Bird-in-Hand Stage. Unfortunately, it will end on Nov. 5, 2016. In this contentious presidential election season, this had us wishing for a candidate like Josiah (the Amish farmer). It was a delightful performance. The play was fun, the music was good, and...
