My dog and I set off on a brisk afternoon searching for Enlow tunnel and National tunnel. Enlow is a straight shot and 575 feet long. National tunnel has a curve in it and at 600ft long it really is the best. Both ends have been sealed off keeping the huge icicles that used to form in the tunnel to... More

Thanks to all the volunteers who make the path a pleasure to be on. It's strange how friendly people can be walking and then back in the parking lot, routine takes over and they slam the door into each other's cars.

An interesting section of the trail with several bridges. The trail traffic isn't too bad through the week. Stop and get a gyro at the Simple Greek if you want to earn back some calories. Definitely downhill from Bethel Park to Peters Township.

The Montour trail is a beautiful trail. It is like a get away for your mind and body. The area is so fortunate to have this resource to enjoy walking, biking, or running!

I live near the Montour Trail section in Bethel Park and Peters Township and I must admit only recently did I discover this hidden gem. I use it several times a week and never tire of its serene and remote beauty. It has a well maintained limestone surface and the weeds are routinely trimmed. My only complaint is that access... This is a nice long trail through beautiful countryside. It doesn't have the scenic river views of the Great Allegheny Passage, but it is still very pleasant from end to end. There are three tunnels along the way. There are multiple parking spots and toilet facilities (flushing portables). Trail surface was in excellent condition as of October 2016, although there... I have enjoyed this trail for safe no traffic bike riding through the woods and through old railroad tunnels. The trail extends hundreds of miles in W PA. I have been rideing here for decades.

Well groomed limestone pack with stretches of pavement in Peters Twp. Bikes, joggers and walkers on the trail. Weekend crowds are somewhat heavy in parts overall it's fantastic with some of the best volunteer work around

Good for a nice peaceful walk, jog or bike ride but prefer the paved portion in peters because of conditions during bad weather and can use inline skates as its paved.
