We’re glad we made a stop here on our way to Astoria. This is a great beach spot where you can get close to see the ship wreck.

We decided on a whim to go visit the Peter Iredale ship wreck on our trip to Astoria. I was underwhelmed by the actual wreck itself- I was expecting more of it to be there. It was interesting to see and free, so that made...More

When we visited the Oregon coast, I wasn't expecting to see the ruins of a ship on the beach. It was a cool and nice surprise to learn a little about US history. I gave it a 4 star mainly because I'm not used to...More

I had been to this site in 1964 when I was 5 and couldn’t wait to show it to my son and his family. The beach is beautiful although a bit too chilly to go swimming. The wreck was about 1/4 of the size when...More

Great place to watch the sunset. Sad to see it deteriorating so quickly but it's beautiful. Be respectful of the wreck and don't climb on it. Also a fun beach to run your dogs.

Went and saw the wreck today and there was little left of the ship. We enjoyed walking the beach and enjoying the breeze. Sand is very fine a salt and pepper colored. Grandkids had a great time getting wet.

If this is not too far out of your way, its worth stopping for a look. We were there for less than 30 minutes. A lot of it was under the sand so that may vary from time to time. None the less we enjoyed.

We made a point to stop and see this ship wreck. Frankly, it really isn't a point of interest, unless you want to see in person, the same exact thing you can see in this photo. It is on a beach and that's all there...More

Never seen a shipwreck before so it was kind of cool to see but I don't think I'd make a special trip to see it. In addition to playing in the beach it was a nice addition. There is a story on Wikipedia about it...More
