All reviews beautiful waterfall short hike parking lot trail continues nice hike stone bridge foot waterfall trail head easy hike switchback trail great hiking switch backs catch your breath actual waterfall landing area no trouble worth the effort
After parking at the trailhead which is right on the road, enjoy a short but brisk 1 mile upward journey. Sneaky views of the falls begin to appear through the trees, and then it is revealed in all it's splendor! Take time to absorb the...More
Wahkeena Falls has a total 242-foot drop, but the drop is more gentle than some of the others as it cascades down. My photo is of the lower falls.
The name is an English translation of a Native American phrase meaning ‘most beautiful’.
This is a fun (short) hike to see Wahkeena Creek flowing over various formations, providing cascades, short falls, and even another horsetail-type falls - there's something to see/photograph every few dozen yards! From the parking lot, it's only 0.2 miles to the main waterfall, where...More
While massive tourism abounds at Multnomah Falls, the switchback trail to Wahkeena Falls is just west before Multnomah Falls and offers a less crowded beautiful venue. The switchback trail to the falls is short and lush. The rewards are plentiful. Still, I would go further...More

We stopped here on a very busy weekend. We had no trouble parking and I recommend to park here if you are planning to go to Multnomah falls and do not mind a .5 mile hike or a 5 mile hike. We chose the 5...More
We did the Multnomah-Wahkeena Falls hike, which goes about 6 miles up bheind both falls. It's not easy, but well worth it. Way better than being with the hundreds of people at Multnomah. Back up the mountain, we only saw a handful of people, but...More
We did the 6-mile hike from Wahkeena Falls looping up past Fairy Falls and several others to end at the base of Multnumah Falls. We went on a Sunday in August, so we had to fight for parking and fight the crowds at both Wahkeena...More
Sorry, we were there right before the fires. I have no idea how the area is now. If everything is open, I would suggest parking at the park on the west side prior to the falls and walking the trail in, that was very... More
Sorry, we were there right before the fires. I have no idea how the area is now. If everything is open, I would suggest parking at the park on the west side prior to the falls and walking the trail in, that was very enjoyable. It did require a bit of agility and good shoes, not for those in average condition.
