It was overcast and snowy /raining when we drove up Rt 20, (242 was closes) but the views were gorgeous. My husband got out in the rain to take the short hike down to one of the waterfalls. He said it was pretty. We stopped...More

We did the McKenzie Pass route out of Sisters on our way to Florence. Though the smoke from wildfires was evident, the view of the Three Sisters was still amazing. Our first stop was the Dee Wright Observatory that offered a panoramic of the Cascades...More

It's very interesting, when you come out of the woods all of a sudden and reach the lava fields the first time it's kind of a shock. Hopefully the fires will be under control and the haze will not obscure your view of the distant...More

My wife and I drove up to the Sisters area for the solar eclipse. We love scenic drives, so took this one last Sunday. Wow! Even with smoke from the wildfire obscuring the surrounding peaks, this was still one of the most scenic areas we...More

We were in the area and I just happened to see some information about this drive. Very glad we took the time. The road is very winding and twisty so you must drive slowly but that's fine because you want to see everything. There are...More

This drive is well worth the time to travel it. The road, narrow in spots is well paved with multiple turnouts. The parking at the scenic spots is very good.

This was such a find. All along this scenic route are great places to take photos, visit waterfalls, scenic vistas, and dramatic mountain peaks. We didn't the entire day driving the loop from Redmond. So much beauty!

Gorgeous drive. Lots of cool spots along the way. Definitely worth the extra time and you can only enjoy the scenery because you certainly can't drive very fast on that winding road. Beautiful sunsets up at the top as well.

This is a very scenic drive and involves a lot of switchbacks. The highlight was the Dee-Wright observatory which overlooked miles of lava fields. That alone was worth the drive. There is also a mile loop that is very easy to walk, paved and makes...More

It's a totally safe road, but be aware of your speed. People driving too fast tend to stray into the other lane and onto the shoulder on curves. I ride it on a motorcycle several times a summer.......other drivers are the... More
