It was free to get in and free parking . We went into the visitor center and the volunteer were very nice and really helpful. The power had gone out do to a windstorm the day before but the reserve was still open. They gave us a flashlight so we cold see the exhibits! Then they let us borrow a... More

It didn't look like much from the road but when we got out it turned into a very enjoyable time walking on the path, no hills, and seeing lots of birds. Very nice.

Love the walk through here, several viewpoints. Not really big but good for a short leisurely walk. Pretty quiet with places to sit and read or relax along the way. Seasonal birds visible from some locations. Place to picnic as well (covered).

Well done nature exhibit combined with about a one mile walking trail in the wetlands harboring birds and a variety of animal life. Frequented by eagles, a great place for exploring the outdoors. No pets.

Leave your dogs at home! Great walking trails and lots of birds. Check the hours of operation, the hours they are open are varied and I thought kinda strange. some areas are closed for months.

Nice 1-3 mile walk mostly flat around the wetlands. Great this time of year even though most of the walk is closed for the convenience of the waterfowl. 100,000's of geese and ducks. When they take off at one time it sounds like an airport. Nice interpretive center with restrooms and gift shop. Daily bird count. Special parking spaces for... More

This park is close to home, so I visit several times a year. The trails are easy, but there aren't enough of them (probably to protect the natural habitat). You either need to walk all around the park which takes over an hours for us, or go part way and turn around. This is not wheel-chair accessible. The trails follows... More

I was visiting the area and tired of running paved trails downtown. According to my GPS this was "just outside of town" -- fortunately I left the dog at home, as the Refuge quite adamantly has posted: NO DOGS. And no jogging or running? Because that "disturbs the wildlife"? So ... I decided to walk around a bit. It was... More

This location is beautiful for walking, jogging, sitting, bird watching and picnicking. Seasonally, the terrain changes, always revealing new things to explore. Usually get views of frogs, nutria, beavers, Hawks, ducks; and sometimes deer, and owls. Note: no dogs or bikes allowed.
