Smith Rock has a Wild West vibe. The trails offer a full spectrum of options for beginners to advanced hikers. Located just half an hour north of Bend, it is a great option to day in the Cascades. I saw eagles fishing the winding river....More

This is a beautiful place to stop for a quick look, a short hike, or a day hike. If you're a climber, I probably don't have to tell you that this is a place not to be missed. Seems to be dog friendly as I...More

We hiked up and around the rock. High altitude, so be aware of that if you aren't used to it. Rock climbers climb one face of the rock and seem to all enjoy it, great fun to watch as well. Summers get really hot so...More

Enjoyed 2 of the trials at Smith Rock. One "easy" and one "difficult". As a visitor to this part of the country, and one used to flat/sea level terrain, the "difficult" trail was indeed that, but enjoyed Monkey Face!

We visited here for a quick little hike along the river. It was perfect for our family. Not too difficult. But there are more difficult trails and rock climbing spots that range from beginner to expert! The rock formations were gorgeous as well.

Great area to hike along the Crooked River and international known area for rock climbing. Miles of trails along the river and up on the butte. Great views from the top of Smith Rock, but strenuous trails to climb.

There is only one entrance/exit to this state park from Hwy 97. I would recommend to you to stop at the first parking lot in the park. From there leads a easy flat trail that takes you around the southern edge of the steep... More
