Truly amazing scenery. The kind of place you could expect to see Wile E Coyote chasing Road Runner around. Loads of interesting walks of varying difficulty and rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking etc for the less faint of heart. Reasonable parking charges and a short...More

Smith Rock State Park is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. No matter what the weather or time of day, it's absolutely gorgeous. When we went this week, the sky was clear, allowing the rocks to cast beautiful shadows. Since there was...More

This place is beautiful, with wonderful hiking, and world-class rock climbing opportunities. However, on a Saturday in late September, the place was jammed; it was difficult finding a parking space. One can stroll around the river, or make a climb up Misery Ridge; lots of...More

Simply gorgeous on a stunning fall day. We understand why the were cars there from Florida to Alaska. Our first visit but not our last.

Absolutely breathtaking!! Because it’s a state park, it’s not as well known which I really like (less people go here), but you still get stunning scenery. I did the Misery Ridge trail with my parents and it was quite enjoyable! Starts off with multiple switchbacks...More

We drove over from Sisters, having heard Smith Rock was one of Oregon's scenic wonders. It was a mostly sunny but cool fall weekday. Arriving mid-morning, we were surprised to see the parking lot 3/4 full of cars plus a couple school buses of 4th...More

The landscape was good and the slopes are intense. I recommend this for a clouded day, it is too difficult on a sunny day.

From the pics on-line I had low expectations (having been to Zion many times) however, what a lovely surprise!!! Took the Misery Ridge trail which went from hard (up the switchbacks to the top) and then across to Monkey Face and down the backside along...More

Smith Rock is an experience that everyone can enjoy. If you're not able to hike much, there are some easier hikes that follow the river and provide incredible views of Smith Rock and the climbers. If you're more adventurous, you can try one of the...More

This is beautiful and very close to Redmond. I just loved it! Was not expecting such beauty. That is so true for many of the state parks that I have been to!
