The MAX is very inexpensive and gets you most places. If you are over 65 you are an "honored citizen" and get a 1/2 price ticket. That meant both me and my spouse traveled for $5.00 a day. We also took it from and to...More

Visited Portland for 5 days. Wonderful transportation system. Can get an all-day pass good for MAX plus busses. $2.50 for adults, $1.50 for "honored citizens" (senior citizens), including the Red Line to & from the airport. Run often. Such a deal!

MAX has been a welcome addition to the Portland metro area since it began in the 1980’s. Its expansion over the years just keeps making it better. Cars are clean, runs on time and it takes me where I need to go.

A bit confusing at first, but once a friend explained some of the quirks on one of the routes, we took this all over town. You can get a very reasonable day pass and ride all over the city as much as you want. Since...More

Several lines, running every 15min, convenient and fast. You can buy a pass and combine it with the bus service.

I am not a big fan. If you like to people watch, but its pretty sketchy on riders. There needs to be better policing. Riding around downtown is helpful.

Only $2.50 great value for a trip up to an hour or so. Comfortable and efficient. Would recommend. Just be sure where you are going is uphill or not to get to hotel!

I love the fact that the MAX is so easily located at the Portland Airport. Inexpensive, dependable and safe transportation. The only way I get around Portland. Now you can get from the Airport to Multnomah Falls on the Columbia River Gorge Highway.

This is your best option if it takes you close to where you need to go. Forget parking issues downtown or at an event like a Trailblazer game. We also like the downtown trolley as another easy and cheap way to get around the city.

If you can, do rent a car to visit the gorge area. There are so many waterfalls to see, places to hike (short to long, easy to difficult), and views to enjoy.

I don't believe so. This is a city / suburban service. Eugene is almost 2hours south of Portland on I5.
