While adorable, and still worth viewing, construction is happening near these water features, and they are empty right now, and construction fencing is about 2 feet from them.

What a fun thing to see, water pools with animal sculptures! There are several types of animals, such as beavers and ducks. It's all along the sidewalk to see as you walk by.

These were on the north side of the Pioneer courthouse. In July 2017 the us construction on that side of the building so it was a little hard to enjoy them. Interesting though.

Every street I walked on had a mini pool with an animal statue in it. Added to the charm of downtown Portland.

I was walking in down town Portland in the vicinity of Pioneer square and I suddenly saw these ponds with animals. It was quite a surprise. A pleasant one indeed.

Strolling around the centre of Portland, you come across a number of these tableau with various animal sculptures well carved. Often under the trees, they offer welcome enjoyment and we especially noticed the smiles of young children and families. A good initiative.
