Beautiful urban campus

And be sure to make it by on a Saturday morning for the farmer's market - best in the city! The park blocks are stunning and a great place for a picnic or a pleasant walk.

PSU is an integrated part of Portland. It's difficult to be downtown and not be on their campus. Lots of things going on, very involved in community life.....and ideal of what an urban campus can be. Our son did his undergrad here, our professional lives have been spent on campuses all over the country.....this is a very good place and... More

Frequently departments such as Asian Studies and Middle Eastern Studies provide weekly performances, lectures and other cultural events, so besides being the number one destination for Portland students who don't want to move away from town and don't have the resources to go elsewhere, this school offers accessible events throughout the year. Easy to get on their listservs to get... More

PSU is tucked into the SW corner of the city proper and can be busy during the day. The campus is compact and be be crowded during the academic year. there are a couple of food cart pods for quick lunches and good pizza place. Parking can be a problem even though they ahve several public garages. the best time... More

As an urban campus this is average. They have not average things like the Saturday farmers market or the food carts on 4th. But that is independent from the University. Went to three urban universities in other states and the parking and transportation was better, but not the area restaurants or the safety in the area. Those are out standing.... More

psu is such a piece of downtown portland that it's almost impossible to not cut through the 'campus' on several avenues every day, if you're accustomed to going 'in town'. the opera and graduate english departments are almost a secret considering how world class they rank among the cognoscenti.

I like the layout of the campus and the proximity of it's football practice field and what not. I liked it.

I loved the location of this University in Portland. I could walk downtown to Powell's Bookstore, and they had a fabulous Saturday Farmers Market on Campus! It is also serviced well by public transportation that can take you anywhere in the city limits. I will definitely return. They also have fantastic athletic facilities.

It straddles South Park blocks where beautiful old trees grace the shadow over the campus. If stroll to the north side within the beautiful park, one can find Portland Art Museum, Oregon Historical Society, Schinizer Peforming Arts center and many coffee shops, award winning restaurants, Fox theatre. Many prominent old churches grace the park as well. Shops like Nordstrom, Macy... More

Don't know about the academic side, but on the grounds of the university is a really excellent farmers' market on Saturdays. All the locals were there. Prepared food options. Wonderful looking fresh produce. Wish I had this option where I live.
