If you start at Salmon street and walk south up a slight incline, you will enjoy the tree canopy, especially in the fall when the trees are quite breath-taking. I would disagree with the couple of reviewers who are disgusted with the homeless situation there....More

The South Park Blocks are twelve park blocks that run from Portland State University North. The park is filled with benches for people to relax and enjoy a bit of nature within the concrete jungle. A place to get away from the daily grind of...More

We were told that this area was a great place to see beautiful, Victorian style homes so we took the MAX and ventured downtown. Boy, were we ever mislead! Homeless people everywhere we looked. Yes, there were some beautiful statues, but we couldn't walk into...More

I enjoy parks. Parks are supposed to be safe, peaceful and allows people to rest and enjoy the scenery. But not South Park Blocks. They are far too many homeless people loitering around this park and it needs to be maintained.

The local farmer's market held on Saturday was a great way to spend the morning. The most distinctive ornaments are the Benson drinking fountains.

The South Park area is lovely. Lots of trees and benches for great strolls. The university is at one end. It has theatres and museums, plus cafes and beautiful homes. This is a real urban oasis, with Teddy overlooking the area.

Great place to stroll and enjoy Portland people, trees, and architecture. Plenty of parking areas, near museums and churches. Gorgeous in fall. Plenty of places to sit. Definitely a few transients and unsavory types, but it feels pretty safe friendly.

Went to the Saturday open air food market where locals go. Later, just strolled through the multi-block park, sat on a bench under the shade trees and enjoyed the scenery. Why don't all cities have parks like this?

This will become your go to place in Portland. I've always sat at the bar where Will has educated & entertained me with his knowledge and selection of wines. He's just as good with mixed drinks. Order some appetizers and you are set, just wait...More

The Park Blocks- both North and South- were both included in the original design of the city of Portland, and they really have turned into two amazing parks. The South Park Blocks runs for a total of twelve blocks, each one containing a different piece...More
