Built in 1913 and restored in 1997, this is a must see for library lovers and those who appreciate the Georgian Revival style building. I especially enjoyed the Children's section with the Preserving a Memory Bronze tree and the WPA bas relief, Alice in Wonderland.

I love the Multnomah County Central Library - especially the business resource section in the pink room. The librarians are very helpful at identifying and pulling helpful content for research projects.

I especially love the marble staircase and old wood interiors in this fabulous old library. Great place to do research, people watch - and read or check out books. They don't build them like this any more, and it's so great to have this right...More

The building is beautiful and well maintained. The main staircase is worth a trip to the top. We found (January 2018) a fun interactive exhibit on immigration. The gift shop offers cute notecards& multipurpose bags, gifts and notecards.

In the digital age, Libraries are a bit of a retro thing, but the Portland landmark is a major library but also almost a working museum of what great libraries used to be like. It is the perfect, reverent housing for the knowledge it contains....More

This was a great break for us. I wanted to print out our boarding passes and the kids stayed in the children’s library room and had some rare electronic time. Awesome IPads and a tree sculpture as well. The architecture and staircase were beautiful.

A lovely library where Beverly Cleary used to work. Or at least that's how I understand it. Didn't get to spend a lot of time here, but it's such a lovely building.
