A nice visit on a Saturday

There are a few parking garages for only $5 for the day in the vicinity. The market had a lot of vendors, and was nice to wander through. They even serve alcohol. We bought... read more

My friend and I got to try most of the food stands. I loved the fresh popped kettle corn popcorn, each kernel created popcorn as large as a quarter! The Alligator jerky was really interesting but I think I will stick to beef jerky.

I had wandered through The Portland Saturday Market last Sunday over in Tom McCall Waterfront Park and headed west. I crossed the street and found that the Market continued over here near the Skidmore Fountain area but seemed to think it was uniquely different enought to have its own name-- The Skidmore Market. WHY? It looks exactly the same to... More

Its full of freaks and smelly people, but its a decent diversion if you are looking for something offbeat to do.

There are a few parking garages for only $5 for the day in the vicinity. The market had a lot of vendors, and was nice to wander through. They even serve alcohol. We bought some of the beer beef jerky. Some stuff is nicer (clothes, jewelry, artwork), and some stuff is a little junky, but definitely a great place to... More

This market kind of builds through the year and then starts to slow down in August but has a big finish for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Food at Thanksgiving and crafts especially jewelry in December. Biggest plus is the Red line of of the MAX stops and lets you out right at Skid-more fountain. There are a lot of booths for... More

All independent business people bringing crafts down to the market. It's really nice shopping outdoors and supporting local people instead of big corporations. Often nice music and interesting sight seeing too!

It is definitely different.... Food did not look that great, and the music was awful but we were only there an hour. It felt cramped and dirty, maybe we caught it on bag day? We really wanted to try Voodoo donuts but it was an hour plus line. Dan and Louis Oyster Bar here we come. Now these Oysters are... More

My niece recommended this market and were told it was the most interesting one but really it lacks in scope. Good people watching but pretty much same old same old.

There were not as many booths as the Portland Saturday Market (which is right across the street from this market), but it was fun to walk around and browse. We came here on a Saturday when it was very hot, so it was not that comfortable walking around. They did have food and beverages for sale.

I didn't care for the items or feel of this market. I am usually drawn to an international market, but this one didn't have an interesting or authentic vibe.
