Really small museum right at the bank but excellently done. We called ahead and got the free tour. In fact nobody else signed up for it at that hour so the two of us had a private tour. Guide was very knowledgeable. He was able to answer all our questions except one for which he promised an email reply. Note... More

Allow yourself about an hour for your visit. Provides lots of history, from stagecoaches to trains to steamboats. Explains the banks involvement/important to growth in Oregon. Exhibits are located in lobby near entrance. Displays are well done. Short readings in each area along with a number of pictures and artifacts. There is a small store and a historian available to... Although a stage coach dominates the lobby of a Wells Fargo bank that is the limited museum space, tucked into this area is a wealth of local and social history. Stories are told about a safe, desk, and gold dust (previously I had thought that the Gold Rush was only in California). Objects are well selected, and you don't feel... More

After lunch at Nel Centro we decided to drop in the Wells Fargo History Museum as it was located just around the corner. It is in located in the large lobby area of the main bank branch. We were warmly greeted by the lone museum employee (given how small the museum is I was surprised they even had someone working... More

A free museum! Great for a quick 30-60 minute visit. We called in advance and let them know we were coming. An authentic stage coach was the highlight and worth the trip. Lots of fun items for kids and adults to see and learn about. The guides were super informative and kind.We enjoyed our visit.

This small museum inside the Wells Fargo Bank was quite delightful. Lots of very interesting exhibits and was quite an eye opener to me of the part Wells Fargo played in history transporting people and goods. We really enjoyed our visit and it was free too - what more could you hope for?!

The museum takes up only a half floor of the building, but you can learn how to drive a 6 horse stage coach, operate a telegraph, see an 1880 copy machine, learn about how they regularly transported 18 passengers on a stagecoach. It will provide an interesting stop over in downtown Portland. I did not realize that Wells Fargo transported... More
