Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Sellwood Riverfront Park is the only beachfront park I know of in Portland. There's a small strip of sand for those beach loving folks. This is dog friendly park and comes with an off leash area for dogs to roam. There's a dock for those who prefer the aquatic life over the four legged friends. For those who want to bring their kayak, there's ample parking and a washroom. The area is not small, but not large, though a nice green patch with lots of water and city skyline views.

After a meal in Sellwood, we headed over to SE Spokane, parked at the end of the road, and walked along the trails, making our way towards Oaks Bottom. There's enough room that you can dodge the dog walkers, runners and other athletic events, and still focus on your conversation. Would suggest taking this walk on a summer or late spring night when you have more light ... and can easily find your way back to the car. From this vantage point, you can also take a few minutes to walk under the Sellwood bridge which is a bit spooky and fascinating.

This park has a great parking lot for visiting the park or taking a walk/ride on the paved trail which will take you all the way into downtown. There are great views of the river. Good for kayakers and dog owners.

We often stroll along the bike path near the Sellwood Bridge and visit this riverfront park. We would sit and watch the riverfront activities. There are always many dog owners exercising their dogs playing fetch in the park and in the river water. There were probably more than 20 dogs with their masters when we visited this weekend. If you do not like dogs, this is not a place for you. Most owners are attentive to the poop of their dogs, but some do not and children may step on some unwanted attachments. This park is a short stroll to the Oaks Amusement Park.

Running water and sand to play in, picnic tables for dining. Kids love to come here. Easy to get to, good for big kids and little kids. Very popular during summer months.

This park itself is nothing spectacular. What makes it awesome is the view and the neighborhood. Sellwood's home are a joy to see. For the fixer upper waiting for it savior to the many many homes that have been beautifully restored. And even better downtown Sellwood has lots of fun shops and restaurants.

This park is a great vantage point for a nice long walk on a summer afternoon. Sitting on the east side of the Willamette River, it affords excellent views to the sunset to the west - and downtown Portland a bit further northwest along the river. The park has a walk-way that is not quite completed (outside of the park boundaries) - but you can walk along the river bank for quite some time to the north (this can take you all the way up to Oaks Park). There are public bathrooms - clean enough. It is an off-leash dog park. There are concerts in the summer weekends - food vendors set up. Check local listings for what's available - they shows have always been free. Off street parking is ample for day-to-day use - but on concert days you'll have to park where you can.

We walk our labrador in this park in the summer months and he finishes off with a plunge amongst many dogs.

Took my kids and grandkids here for a day of frolicking in the water and a picnic. While we were in the water a woman not watching her dog and letting it run around came in urinated all over our lunch umbrella and blankets. Not cool people keep your dogs on leashes where they belong so others can enjoy the environment we pay for. Other than that it’s an amazing area great to go kayaking rafting out of and Oaks Park is really close
