The Pioneer Courthouse Square wound up being our meeting place for many of our activities. They were putting up the Christmas Tree - wish we could be there for the lighting!

There is just something amazing about grabbing a hot coffee on a Portland autumn day, and relaxing on the steps in Portland’s living room. Honestly, as if the people watching weren’t enough, the summertime Flicks on the Bricks is awesome, and don’t forget to try...More

I was unimpressed! I guess if it was a beautiful day and you wanted a place to sit, it might be nice. The metro dropped us off there so I am glad I got to see it, but if I had walked there especially to...More

When we visited, part of the Square was blocked off with partitions. There was some type of display, but it was difficult to determine if it was open to the public, or was a private function, because there were people in uniform walking around. There...More

The Courthouse Square offers areas to sit and relax, people watch and allows you to enjoy a beverage or meal on the go. Always something fun going on in the Square (the Italian Festival was in full swing during our visit).

The Pioneer Courthouse Square was undergoing renovations in July 2017 when we visited. Thirty years ago the place seemed like an important symbol of downtown's revival. Now, it just seems ordinary, although downtown has in fact revived marvelously all around it.

We were looking for things to do near The Pearl District but found this less than exciting. Surely they have other things going on there yet today seemed uneventful. Perhaps if we didn't have a rental car and stayed downtown it would be more appealing.

Could not see what would make this better than an average square. It's a central part of the City and appears to be a venue for various events but nothing happening when we passed.

After years of hype and comparison to Seattle we made a trip to Portland. While I saw many a wonderful sights, I also saw a city overrun in a Homeless crisis. Mostly Youth teens or in early 20's dirty, holding signs and begging. It was...More

At the time we were there, there were just a few carts and I opted for a quick hot dog and fries (which weren't the best), but there was a pulled pork sandwich cart next to it that others got and enjoyed. Not sure if these... More
