The sections of this river walk that are close to Portland's Old Town/China town are completely overrun with homeless as there's 4 homeless shelters close to this park. The homeless in this park also aren't docile: they'll frequently hit you up for money all along...More

Walk in between the bridges; it offers excellent view. It is a pity that seats are not enough. Insert this into your itinerary when you are at downtown; it is within walking distance. Another place to enjoy a pack lunch / picnic.

If you need some place great for a walk, jog, or run, this is a great place by the river. Right next to the River, and great views of all of the bridges in Portland.

Our first real visit to Portland, the girls (15 and 12) and I had a few days to burn while Mom was at a training seminar. Some local friends highly recommended visiting the waterfront. We walked the length of the park from north to south....More

What a cute area! We walked through on our way to Oregon Bites. I wish we had more time to explore and tried out some of the restaurants.

I have been to many cities and this being my home town I might be a bit biased. The city of Portland is absolutely stunning from the waterfront. With the most bridges in a city in the US it is definitely a must see!

We were very disappointed in this park. It was a gathering place for the Portland homeless population. Quite sad seeing these poor people sleeping in doorways, urinating behind trees and bathing in the fountain. I guess the locals have become accustomed to seeing them, but...More

The waterfront park which is owned by the city of Portland is free except certain events. Even during events, one can still access to the park itself without any charge.
