We go a few times a year, general NOT when there is an event going on as it is usually too crowded for just walking. Nice level paths, lots of pretty views and fun to people watch as they jog, yoga, frisbee and hang out. Fine for kids and families during the day, I would not go there at night- gets a... More

The park, really the whole waterfront area is beautiful, on both sides of the river. We walked through this area on several different days, and each day was overcast and chilly, but it didn't damper the mood to be found within the park. The area was bustling, even in the cold, and it was fun to walk through the area.... More

Brisk, but very fun loop run and great way to access the bridges and views you can't get from a car. Will enjoy the park on every return visit.

Over the years, I've had some wonderful experiences here. I've watched the navy ships come in for the Rose Festival. I've walked along the river and over the bridges. I've sat outdoors and enjoyed lunch and coffee, watching the boats and river. I could go on and on. Don't miss it !

At all times of year, but especially in early spring when the cherry trees are in bloom or in high summer when you can lay in the grass and just stare at the blue skies. On a nice day, walk the whole loop over the steel and hawthorn bridges for a couple hour stroll!!! Evenings can start getting a little... More

Include this area into your downtown walking tour, it is a very pretty area with nice sidewalks and good views of the river.

My wife and I walked maybe 1.25 miles of this area in August. It was warm but comfortable. The first thing we noticed is that Portland loves its bridges. Like, they really love making bridges. There are a lot of them and you will see that clearly during a walk along the Waterfront area. The area itself is nice, but... More

We came by here on our Segway tour of the city. Neat little area with some different stuff to do around the area.

Nice views of the bridges and the river. Lots of homeless and graffiti. Not as well maintained as other waterfronts I've visited. When I was there, it was mostly homeless and joggers. I didn't see a lot going on like you often get in urban parks.
