This is a fun place to visit. There are great walking paths along the edge of the water, up on the cliff. There's lots of history about the coast guard from years before.

I would go here when the weather is good. It Is a lot of hiking but the views are amazing. You can see Cape Blanco in the distance

Not many people seem to visit this park, but it's well worth a stop (no fee). There are several lovely hiking trails through the woods and out onto the headlands, for spectacular ocean views. Along one trail you can see the site of the old Coast Guard lookout tower and another the site of the lifeboat house and launch rails,... More

Don't pass up the opportunity to stop here and take in the views. There are many along the way, but don't miss this one.

If you have an extra hour in the Port Orford area, check out this park. Interesting stories regarding the coast guard heroes who worked these treacherous waters and some short hikes with great views.

This was towards the end of our time in beautiful Oregon before crossing the border into California. We stopped to gaze at the ocean scene. Huge dark mysterious looking rocks emerge from the blue green ocean and the cliffs sweep down to sandy coves. Looking back at what was an absolutely wonderful North American Road Trip, the Oregon coast was... More

We spent a couple hours exploring the museum. There are great exhibits on the life boats and the men who worked here. Take the time to hike to the outlook for great views. The trail was paved but a little steep so maybe not suitable for everyone.

A great mixture of nature and historical stuff. Near the parking area are some historical Lifeboat Station buildings including a small museum and an actual real Lifeboat that was used at Port Orford. A nice grassy area including a few picnic tables...very peaceful. Then there are some walking/hiking trails (nothing too strenuous) that go to some magnificent overlooks. The "northern"... More
